I was on the fence. I couldn't work it out, as in how the book was going to work. And then I thought I worked it out and it confused me. And then I was surprised by the ending. She definitely knows how to keep a air of tension throughout the entire book though. I was amazed at how tense I got. I think I have decided on 4 stars. It possibly didn't have to be that long... but I enjoyed it.

It'd make a great movie/teleseries.

I was reading an article online a few weeks ago which was all about how it would make a great film but for some reason it just never gets made. There is a film of The Goldfinch in the works so maybe 'The Secret History' will follow if that film is successful.

I am so glad you enjoyed The Woman in White Suzanne. It is one of my favourite classics.

Mother Nature has a cruel sense of humour. That was just a teaser of what's coming up within a month or so. A friend of mine posted a picture of his kids jumping on the trampoline the other day with the caption, "Snow one weekend and playing in the sprinkler the next!"

I finished up the last book available to me in the Charles Lenox series last night, An Old Betrayal. I have to wait for November for the next on in print. Probably longer for the CD version. I am almost half way through Cress. The print books took second seats for the audio books last week, but I hope to catch up soon.

Started Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk in the dentist's office this afternoon. It's been years since I read one of his books and needed something outrageous to read, and so far he's delivering.

I finished Mr Mercedes for the monthly challenge. I really enjoyed this book and gave it 5 stars. It was such a page turner and is now my favourite Stephen King book to date.

I am now starting Theft of Swords for the chunkster challenge. I am really looking forward to starting this series.

Seeing it as a quick read I devoured half of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore which has been a book with mixed feelings from people. I'm loving it. There is a kind of 14 type feel to it. So glad curiosity made me want to know for myself how it was

I just finished The Miniaturist. It was great! Reminded me of Rebeccaand Sarah Water's writing style. The prose was lush and beautiful and the plot engaging. Highly recommend to those that like Historical Fiction and a little bit of dark-gothic-ness.

I started The Woman in Black when I hit the highway this morning and was almost done when I arrived at the airport. I should have pulled over somewhere where I wouldn't have paid $12.00 for a maximum of 20 minutes, saved myself a parking ticket for another $25.00 (because who can park for 20 minutes at the airport), and finished the book. I would have still be in time to meet my sister.

I waited for months to finally listen to it! When I started I was 38 of 38 for only 3 copies, but I had to wait for 28 other people to finish so I could listen to Scarlet first. I originally had Cress in my Mickey section, but had to move it down to Roadrunners or I would have never gotten the section done. Especially as other books kept jumping in. The wait will be worth it though. It was great!!!!

Just finished Americanah. I found this book interesting specially because of the perspective from where the topics were addressed. Though I felt it lacks of a plot. I never really liked Ifemelu, the main character, but that didn't prevent me to empathize her story.

I started yesterday Lord of the Flies.

I am also working my way through my latest chunkster Theft of Swords. I am about 200 pages in and it's really good so far.

I'm about 50% in Cutting for Stone and really enjoying it.

I finished The Woman in Black the other day. The audiobook didn't have the best sound production, but the story was enjoyable in spite of it.

I had intended to listen to Prince of Thorns on my way home from the big city today, but I ended up having unexpected company, so I couldn't start it until I got home.

I decided on Marina. A friend/colleague of mine sent me a message last week with this book in it, and asked if I would like to read it. I said it sounded interesting, and the next day she brought it to work for me. I don't like to keep other people's books for a long time (and I also don't like it when I lend a book and it takes ages before I get it back), so I'll just get started on it ;-) It's my first Carlos Ruiz Zafon book, and I'm very excited!
