Miche | 3279 comments Edited to add some books that I might read for some themes.

message 5: by Miche (last edited Nov 06, 2017 01:49PM) (new)

Miche | 3279 comments I might need to switch some letters around or I will be reading way more ya, pnr and uf that I can stand in one year...

message 6: by Miche (last edited Nov 08, 2017 05:25PM) (new)

Miche | 3279 comments Switched the following letters, to better accommodate to my reading style and to read as many books as I can from the ones I already own:

C - from coven to caste
D - from demon to detective
H - from horror to historian
I - from interstellar to immortal
M - from medium to mummy
P - from phoenix to priest
U - from unicorn to undercover
V - from vampires to vengeance
W - from werewolf to warrior
Y - from yeti to yarn (yes, I knit)

message 7: by Miche (new)

Miche | 3279 comments I think I managed a good list for what I had in mind: to read as many books as I own and to advance my incomplete series.

I already own 16 of these books. From the ones I don't own, 5 are for series advancement so I would get them anyways. The 3 others are books that I wanted to read but that weren't high at my priority.

Knitting in the City is a great series... kind of funny seeing Yarn in among some of them other categories...

Y was a tough letter. I was having trouble finding a substitute for yeti, but I then remembered I had this book at my owned but not read list. That's how yarn came to be in the list. ;)

Delitealex | 403 comments Like your changes do you mind if I use some of them. Your list gave me some ideas on some of the topics I couldn't think of books for :)

Zaara | 4273 comments SAlut Miche (spelling this very carefully :-P bcuz I remember your email story from Heaven knows which ole thred)....
Buuuut *sharp indrawn breath* + SQUEEEEE
Malazan has 'tarot'-y stuff in it?
I'm basically hesitating on the brink of this challenge...truth told, I have NO ideas what to read for each category...and so I was stealing ideas inspired by looking at everyone's plans...
It'll be very cool to see how everyone fills each letter, no?
I just had to stop and comment...tarot n all...

Miche | 3279 comments Salut! (I always double check the spelling since that episode happened, lol)

Malazan has a sort of tarot in it and it appears often enough. :)

Good luck to you too! And most important: have fun!

Zaara | 4273 comments Oh but chérie...I ALWAYS have fun...
I've been meaning to get to know the ppl in Team Raiders I haven't talked much to yet...

And I am a hopeless knitter so that made me smile.
I made a stripey knitted hairband thingy in school for Home Ec. My mom still keeps it arnd somewhere...altho' it is the ugliest thing evaaaaarrr. It is maroon...yeaaap, I went to a school (among a series of other schools) where the uniforms were...jezzt...

Combining this one with the other challenges is helping to keep focus. Let's see if I can keep up the rythym up to the end.

If I manage to finish it this year I will be happy. :)

I usually prefer epic fantasy, but I started the Dresden Files recently and I'm loving it. Now I'm hunting for light, easy to read Urban Fantasy series (because I obviously don't have enough incomplete series). Nice Dragons Finish Last goes on my TBR!

Do it, start it, do it! More points, more points, MORE POINTS! :D

message 42: by Miche (new)

Miche | 3279 comments hahaha

I am starting it now. :)

I normally prefer epic and grimdark fantasy. I decided to give this one a try because it was highly recommended by some goodreads friends.

Great work Miche. Glad you enjoyed Lies of Locke Lamora. I'll be interested to see what you think of the later books as I feel by book three this series has kind of lost its way.

Miche | 3279 comments The first book was really good. I will probably continue the series, but it might not be for a few months. :)
