Adele | 1435 comments This book was a paperback western that I read in the 1970's or early 1980's, but that was probably published prior to that. It focused on two men who were partners, one of whom was deaf or mute or both.

Adele | 1435 comments Bumping.

Amber (Daisymau) (daisymau) | 1912 comments The only thing I can think of is the movie Lightning Jack with Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Adele | 1435 comments I thought maybe the movie was based on the book, so I checked, but it is not. :-( Thanks for the suggestion though!

Based on the screenplay for the Movie Deaf Smith and Johnny Ears by Oscar Saul and Harry Essex. A Classic collectible western and movie tie-in title."Deaf Smith had been locked in silence since birth, but his other senses had sharpened to perfection and his knife was as quick as his gun. Johnny Ears was Smith's guide in a world without sound. He was a half breed who thought fast and drew faster.

Alone they were dangerous. Together they wear deadly. But when they rode into Texas to take on a power mad general and a cutthoat army of killers, they were both going to fight like all the legions of hell for their lives."

Adele | 1435 comments I think that might be it! I will post again when I know for sure. Thank you!!
