Or how about my all time favourite Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith.

The Kim Stone series is one of my favorites. I love Kim. She’s tough, brash, and unrelenting. She keeps her emotions in check because she cares so much.

I get a great GIGGLE when she attempts to cook. Especially when she offers it to Bryant.

I am not a fan of Dr. Alexandra Thorne.

I am getting really pissed off at the appearance of hyperlinks where there is no need for hyperlinks, such as in Ann's post from 12 hours ago (as copied above). What were the GR Powers That Be THINKING (if they were even thinking AT ALL)?!

That said, I am making progress in both Five Quarts and The Pawprints of History. I might post actual reviews of these books when I finish them... .

I think it always makes it easier for someone to find a book quickly and correctly, so I do it as a courtesy.

Firstly ...... language!!

Secondly, I don't have a problem with the links at all. It's up to any member how they post as long as everything is done courteously. Links can be useful for members, speeding up a process.

I wasn't solely referring to your work, Ann. That day and a couple days previous, I was seeing hyperlinks EVERYWHERE, even on non-GR sites but 99% of the hyperlinks I was seeing were here on GR. And they were for the stupidest crud imaginable (wanted to say the other four letter "c' word) like, sites selling puppy dogs when someone used the phrase "puppies" to describe a set of books.

I stopped trying to use hyperlinks myself, since they never (bleeping) worked for me whenever I tried to post them. I'd try to post a hyperlink for say a YouTube video relevant to a discussion of Bram Stoker's Dracula or Tim Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, and I'd think I had it done right when my "guinea pig" would test it and come kvetching to me that it sent him or her to something absolutely bizarre like a Japanese hentai anime that had nothing at all to do with Vlad Țepeș or Mitth'raw'nuruodo , I'd try to fix the link then send the "guinea pig" back. He or she would complain that it still wasn't working, so I stopped using my own hyperlinks. And that was way way back on Yahoo!'s World of STAR WARS site, pretty close to more than a decade ago.

I love them for the book and also the review. That way I can see go straight there to see if I want to add that book to my TBR. Maybe that is why my TBR is so out of control! lol

I finished my October read, The Fall. I enjoyed it and found that the last few pages added a surprise.

Finished The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. HIGHLY recommend for people in this group. I’m newer to her work but I found this to be different than her shock thrillers... as usual it was very well written!

I finished my Oct read and i liked it. It was Evelyn, After and I read it in just a few sittings.
The synopsis indicated it was a psychological thriller, but it definitely was not. It was about a woman in crisis as life as she knows it falls apart. If adultery triggers you, then you should avoid this book.
The "mystery" really was the background and the MC's drama was center stage. Without giving too much away, the ending was predictable for a romance type of book, so for me a little unsatisfying.
But overall, a good read.

I've just reserved this at my library but they don't have any copies at present so I will have to wait for them to get one from elsewhere.
