SOLVED. Book about a girl who goes missing. No spoilers

I read it earlier this year. It was just a random book I found in the grocery store. If I remember correctly, it was a white book with black and blue branches on the cover (maybe?). It was set in somewhat current times, maybe in England or Ireland? I was actually wrong with my original summary so I deleted it.

My original post was wrong. I am looking for the title of a book about 2 different families with 2 teenage daughters in high school. One family's (Family A), who also has another younger daughter, older daughter goes missing just as the other family's family B) daughter is going to college. Family A consists of a higher class mom and dad who are both well off and often have a higher expectation as far as their looks and reputation. Family B consists of a mom who i believe is a stay at home mom and the dad is some sort of newspaper editor or writer. Family A hires a landscaper- i think his name is alex- to do their backyard and they suspect him of their daughter's disappearance. The mom in Family B rides horses a lot and used to hang out with the missing daughter. The two moms become friends and they end up finding some secrets out about each other. Without spoiling too much, the missing daughter is dead- or dying- which they elude to in the book, but she is also narrating certain chapters from beyond death or while she is dying. The book has different narrators in each chapter, switching from character to character. I think the cover was white with black and blue branches/woods on it?
