Whoa! This section ended on an crazy heart stopping note! The truth about Maya came as a shock to me! I knew Daniel was a jerk and wondered why Isme put up with him, but never made the connection about Maya. Whoa. And then the accident! Crazy!!
Just venturing into the middle...but real quick, can I adopt Maya??? Her cute toddler logic is so adorable!
So far have enjoyed this quick and easy going read very much. And I liked AJ all along despite his quirks....but the moment with the jewelry box? Awkward! Well, so now I wonder if he ever finds out the truth about Maya? I just read about the accident...

The accident took me by surprise! But then section 2 jumps way ahead in time. It shocked me but then didn't give me any closure about that incident. I didn't like that.

Yes, that was kinda short. Perhaps the authors writing wasn't as on par on the second half of the book as at first?
Ok, I laughed out loud when the ring box hit Amelia in the head haha! It was such a cute, funny, awkward moment. :)I didn't see the twist coming! I do feel like it was rushed though, like the accident and the reveal about Maya/Daniel happened too suddenly. But I think this story is meant to be simple and not too detailed, so...idk.
I'm liking the characters, the setting, the bookish references, and the general plot. The writing and the pacing are a little bit odd for me. Can't wait to see where they all end up!
Also, I do not recommend the audiobook! The narrator is very monotonous and doesn't give any life to any of the characters imo.

That stinks, when an audiobook narrator is not that great. Does it help if you speed it up a bit? That's what I do anyways. I never really listen at normal speed. So I'm not that great at judging the narration.

I love the beginning of each chapter. I like how AJ brings in novels. I love all the characters. I agree with everyone it is moving very fast but to me a good read. I was shocked by the accident also and wasn't sure who passed away at first. Or if they both did. To find out that Maya was his daughter, what a creep.
