Truls | 5 comments I do not know if this is the right way to proceed but I'll give it a shot. I've "rescued" a book (a swedish edition of the bible) by adding ISBN and correcting the author info, but there is still some things that need to be fixed and if i understand correctly this has to be fixed by a librarian:

#1: merging it with other editions of the bible
#2: page numbering (the book has 1860 pages)
#3: the book lacks cover (the cover can be found at http://www.libris.se/polopoly_fs/1.68... , the publishers web site)

The book in question is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and has ISBN 9171955402. Hopefully someone can help me fix this.

Thank you.

Lieke | 4925 comments #3 I couldn't find the book with the right ISBN on the publishers site, so I added the cover from http://libris.kb.se/bib/8371990
(approved site from the manual)

#2 Do you own the book? Because wordcat has two entries for the book and one says 1764 pages and the other 1717-1860, but libris.kb.se seems to agree on the 1860 pages. (I added that for now)

#1 Does anyone know an easy way to combine this edition with the other bible editions? Anonymous has written a lot of books...
And I'm not sure which version it should be combined with.

Thank you!

#3 Yes, that is correct.

#2 Yes, I own the book.

#1 This is (way) beyond my knowledge... :)

Due to the large number of edition, policy was decided on to only combine editions of the same translation (like King James Bible, New International Version etc.).

Based on how the Dutch editions are combined on GR (all different Dutch translations are combined: https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...), I've also combined all Swedish editions: https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

Since these languages only have a relative small number of editions, the different editions and translations can be combined.

And only editions that contain the whole bible should be combined, editions containing either only the Old Testament or only the New Testament should not be combined with complete editions.

There is a filter option on the combine page. In this case filtering on "bibeln" worked.

When you need to combine books on an author page with multiple pages, and there is no way to find them with filtering, or searching (ctr-f) for a specific word isn't working, there is always an option to temporarily add a word to both editions that need combining (I use "editiontocombine") and to filter for that word on the combine page. And don't forget to remove the word from both titles.
