Christopher's father was wrong for lying to him about his mother. The truth may hurt people at the time, but when someone finds out they were lied to it always hurts more. Wither the person lying had the other persons best interest at heart. In the novel the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Christopher's father told Chris that his mother did of a heart attack in the hospital. When she really went to live with Roger in London because they had a lot in commeon, and she was not a good mother to Christopher because she lost her temper alot. His mother still made an attempt to communicate with Christopher she wrote him numerous letters however his father went out of his way to hide them. As a result of his father's lying Christopher went years lying (something he does not like to do) about his mother because he was told she was dead. Chris's father should have told him the truth even though it would have hurt him, and let him decide how he felt about her because at the end of the day that is still his mother, and now he ended up looking like the bad guy.
