In this first part we meet the principal characters and India under British rule or the British yoke, which way do you see it?

But do we meet India? Forster displays it to as a multitude of things, ideas, beliefs and peoples. That there is no one India. There is a lot of misunderstanding due to cultural and language differences between the Anglo Indians (ie English) and the native peoples; also between the native Indians themselves.
