Suggested
break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're doing. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.
Week 1: 81
Week 2: 81
Week 3: 81
Week 4: 81
I'm 63 pages in & enjoying it. It's been pretty amusing so far, and I like the added mystery surrounding Boo Radley's character. I'm interested to see what happens down the road and (view spoiler).
I read this in the spring. I loved Atticus. He is the perfect southern gentleman. The characters were great and the writing was awesome.
I was watching a show this morning where the characters were reading To Kill A Mockingbird and discussing it. I didn't want to hear any spoilers so I ran through that whole scene, lol! XD

Thank you for dividing the book to easy read sections :)
I have completed the first week's part. The book so far is quite interesting. I like the fact that Harper Lee writes in first person. Young Scout, as being raised in a family with two men and no women, she thinks that being or called a girl means that she is weak and she tries to keep up with the boys of her company; her brother Jem and her friend, during summer, Dill, in order not to be rejected. On the other hand, she cannot escape her nature and being a girl as she is, she is worried about getting in trouble and is very caring, that's why she spends time with Maudie Atkinson when turned down by the boys.
Neverhteless, she does not have to be embaressed to be a girl, but unfortunately she does not know that, yet. Because being a woman does not necessarily mean that she is weak, sentimantal, coward or fearful. But maybe in her time women were underestimated for these characteristics (which are not nessecarily faulty) and that needs to please today's female readers of this book for out priviliges, although, sadly, that does not happen in a worldwide scale.
I am through chapter 27 now. (view spoiler)But it's interesting to read this sort of thing from Scout's POV who is old enough to understand how bad it is but not old enough to fully grasp the implications of it all.
I finished this a little over a week ago. I really enjoyed it! Scout was funny, and it was interesting reading from her POV.I went to see the play of TKAM after I read it, and it was soooo good. :D I'm glad I read the book beforehand.
