Merrilee (jrsygrl626) | 189 comments Harlequin romance, heroine used to be a model but was forced to stop due to scar on face. Hero is a contractor/builder/architect. They meet because he is working on her new house. She was in a skiing (?) accident and was left with a scar that ran through her eyebrow or lip (can't remember which) and it was clearly visible on her face when she was photographed. The company she was modeling for dropped her because they thought that people wouldn't like her new scar.

**spoiler**

In the end the company (possibly a new one) tries to hire her and she says no so she can be with her man. She shows up to a construction site in jeans and a flannel shirt with a pink tool belt and tools.

Joe's Girl by Margaret St. George?

A reviewer on Goodreads says, "Molly’s modeling contract as the Apple Girl for Apple Cosmetics ends after a skiing accident that leaves her with scars. She decides to move to Vrain, CO and remodel the mountain home she inherited from her grandparents while writing a memoir. The local contractor who wins the bid is an old school friend, Joe, who has had a crush on her since 5th grade. Their romance develops under the eyes of the town and his crew. Some great humorous scenes depict living on a construction site and making decisions during a remodel."
