Curious Cat | 1 comments Please help! I read this awesome book a couple years ago and I cannot find it again which makes me a sad kitten. I remember no useful information such as titles author or character names, but I can summarize the plot in hopes someone else has read this. So there's this guy. He is a doctor although I think he's a doctor of literature not medicine. He reads and quotes Shakespeare a lot. He lives in the Midwest with his cat (possibly named tempest) until he goes to visit an old friend on a military base in California. While there he becomes attracted to a pretty young lady and they schedule a date for the day after tomorrow. But this other dude also liked her. Tomorrow, our guy goes to have lunch with his friend on the base. He carries his car with him in his suitcase. He is meet at the gate by a harassed official saying "come on Dr so and so, you're late" and is handed off hurriedly thru several people who ask questions draw blood and never let him get a word in sideways. Nobody opens the briefcase containing the cat. He gets injected with some knockout drugs and wake up on a ship bound far away for the next 20 to 30 years. The other dude switched his name out with the guy who was really supposed to be on the ships crew. At this point they discover the cat. The rest of the book is a hilarious account of the space mission, including danger, heroics, tuna fish theft, false accusations, rumors and a wedding. Does anybody know what this book is named?? Please! Thank you! =^.^=

Curious, what's the genre and tone - science fiction, dramatic, mystery, funny, etc.?

Around what year did you read this book? I find "a couple of years ago" means different things to different people in this large group.

Could the term be "suitcase" or probably "briefcase"?
