Betsy | 930 comments Thanks for the links, Phrodrick.

I won't be rereading this with you all. When I first read it, I laughed so much and I wish I could have that experience again haha!

Shelley This is one of those books that I never would have picked up myself. But, thankfully, I have a lot of sci-fi loving friends and one of them highly recommended it. I enjoyed the audio book so much, I had to listen to the entire series. It's tempting to reread the book now, but I would get sucked into the entire series again. Maybe later, as I'm intentionally rereading a lot of books this year. Enjoy!

Kayla Jennings | 16 comments I've had this book on my shelf for the longest time (my dad keeps trying to talk me into reading it :P) so I guess this is as good a time as any to start reading it! I've never been part of a book club before, this should be really fun!

Kyle Jennings | 7 comments I actually read this a couple of years ago, but my sister Kayla wants to read a book with me, so she talked me into reading it with her. I really enjoyed this the first time around, so I'm looking forward to reading it again!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I'm so glad you're finally reading a book at the same time as me 😄

Kirsten (kmcripn) I haven't watched the film, but I did watch the tv series years ago.

I have also read the first two or three books in this series.

This story started as a radioplay and then it was so popular the author was nearly forced to write the books. Sadly Douglas Adams died way too early.

I really need to re-read it, it is one hilarious book!

Here you can comment, without spoilers, on any aspects of the book, either before, during, or after reading it.

Jan Z (jrgreads) | 405 comments I started it on CD. listened to one and I cannot do anymore . I did not find it funny at all. I saw the absurdity but it was just too stupid for me to continue.

OMG finally 🙂 exactly Like you Said. The absurdity is clear but it isn't funny. I finished it when it was BOTM previously, but it was real struggle.

I can see where you’re coming from. The first time I read it, as a teenager, I loved it. Reading it this time, I did still find parts of it pretty funny, but much of the absurdity didn’t do anything for me—I didn’t hate it, but I definitely didn’t find it very amusing.
