Brian Baugh | 1 comments Hi im trying to remember the title of a fantasy book i read in 2012 while backpacking through South America. I believe the book started with the leader of a rebellion being paraded through the city, castrated then executed. It then flashes back to that same man being washed ashore after a ship wreck. He wakes up on an island hidden from the west of the world by a veil off mist. The mist also has magical powers that make the common people forget the day before or something along those lines. The shipwrecked mas is not affect by the magic which is how he raises the rebellion. the story follows several generations of this man. After that i have a hard time remembering any more of the detail but i remember it being a good and having the potential to be part of a series. If any one has any clues to what book this is or the author I would greatly appreciate it..

Brian, can you tell us more about the people on the island -- their values, rulers, resources, technology, weapons, etc.?

Are there other fantasy elements?
