I will admit, I had never heard of this novel before, but I am loving it so far. I have the kindle version, but I am thinking about picking up a different version with more annotations on the references/allusions.
Wonderful !!!! I am happy you have started. I look forward to more of your thoughts. Who is your favorite character?
This quote is from later on in the book than week 1, but I love this description of Lord Brideshead:
"There was something supremely preposterous in the idea of Bridey as a painter of action pictures; he was usually preposterous yet somehow achieved a certain dignity by his remoteness and agelessness; he was still half-child, already half-veteran; there seemed no spark of contemporary life in him; he had a kind of massive rectitude and impermeability, an indifference to the world, which compelled respect."

Yes, I finished the book the night before last - It was really good (4.5 stars). I am curious when week 4 comes to find out what everyone thought of the ending.
YEA !!!!!! for finishing the book. Continue to add in any thoughts you may have about the book? Is Charles' father still your favorite character now that you have finished the book?
This week's reading is Prologue - Chapter 4
