Anastasia looked up from her notes, although not anywhere near his general direction. No, she looked in the direction of the nosey vampire she was dating that she knew would be listening in to the conversation. “Is that an offer?” She finally answered, looking at Hal with a raised eyebrow.

Bolt didn't react much when he heard it, wanting to see what sort of answer Anastasia gave. It wasn't like he could be angry that someone might be asking her out when they weren't public and she seemed desirable even before.

"It is if there's a chance of you accepting," Hal said, raising his eyebrow expectantly. She was so mysterious that he couldn't anticipate it. It wasn't like he was asking her out on a date or anything, just...something generic.

It took Anastasia a moment before she found something to say that wouldn’t make her sound both arrogant or unsure of herself. “Then it’s not an offer.” She replied, standing when the bell finally rang. “My boyfriend is a pretty jealous guy even when he says he isn’t.” A joke more for Bolts benefit than her own.

Hal nodded slowly. "Fair enough," he said. "Maybe a different situation, some other time. Or not." A group thing, he considered. It was a normal offer for him, but perhaps not for her.

“Maybe.” Anastasia replied, giving him half a smile as she finished collecting her things. She wasn’t going to outright tell him that it would only be as friends or partners, but she was pretty sure he’d get the hint that she was pretty serious with this mysterious boyfriend of hers. See you tomorrow.”

"See you tomorrow," Hal echoed, starting to get here up his own stuff after she'd finished.

Bolt made his way to the door before she was finished. He only had the one notebook so he didn't have much to clean up. Especially since he and Marcie had finished early and cleaned up just as early. He figured he'd wait out in the hall for her.

Anastasia didn’t hand him her bag like she normally would. No, this time she took his hand and, after giving her friends a look, pulled him towards the empty room they’d vacated before class.

Bolt couldn't help smiling when she pulled him away. He didn't know what Anastasia he was going to witness, but he didn't care. He just wanted time with her, which he'd missed in the previous class period. Hopefully the next one would be better.

Anastasia kissed him for a while, maybe a little longer than she’d intended, but she still couldn’t bring herself to pull away from him. Or at least not more than necessary to catch her breath. “I don’t want to pretend anymore.” She admitted, pulling her head back to study his expression. “I’m not saying I want to make out with you in the middle of class, but I do want to make it rather obvious I want to. Mostly so that I’d escape the awkwardness of turning people down.” She wasn’t sure what had made people suddenly brave enough to flirt or talk to her, but she didn’t like it. Not only because of Bolt either.

Bolt leaned in close even after she broke the kiss, and couldn't think of anything else after se admitted she didn't want to pretend. Instead, he chuckled. "I can't believe you didn't even make it a full day," he said, tone clearly amused. "I don't want to hide anymore either... But my parents' class is next. Are you sure you want to start now?"

“Is it really surprising, all things considered?” Anastasia asked, smiling as well as she brushed her lips against his again. “Do you think they’ll embarrass us?” She asked, reaching up to wrap her arms around his shoulders.

"No, but this was your idea," Bolt said, slipping his arms around her waist to comfortably hold her. "No, I don't think they'll embarrass us...but I'd like to introduce you if you are ready to admit you're my girlfriend."

“I didn’t think it would be this hard.” Anastasia admitted, smiling a little as she kissed him again. Again, it wasn’t about the PDA, but maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if it were. “Are you sure about that? Getting rid of me afterwards will be impossible…”

"It is hard. But let's still not make a big deal out of it. Let's just be...natural," Bolt suggested, even as he kissed her again. He didn't want the drama of people knowing they were together, he just wanted their relationship. "I'm fine with introducing you. I want to. I think they'll like you."

“Are you sure?” Anastasia asked again, this time more seriously than the other times. She still kissed him, but maybe more thoughtfully. She knew he had that family mindset, and she admired it, but she wouldn’t be able to reciprocate it any time soon. Not when her mother definitely wouldn’t like him.

Bolt pulled back and gave her a look. "When have I ever said something I wasn't sure about? I'm serious- I really think my parents would like you," he said, unsure if she was just nervous about it.

“Then let’s do it.” Anastasia said, giving him a smile before reaching for his hand. She was still nervous, but maybe more excited than anything. “I didn’t really get to do it at the wedding, and I’ve already met your brothers.”

Bolt smiled a little and kissed her again instead of answering, taking the hand that reached for his and lacing their fingers together. They didn't have much longer now, so he figured they could spend it well.

Anastasia allowed him to kiss her once more before she handed her bag over to him and pulled him out the door, this time not really worried about not being caught. Both because they agreed not to care and because she was already late as it was.

Despite being the first one to leave their first class of the day, Bolt was not the first to arrive at the second. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen. Much like when he more frequently skipped classes whenever he felt like it. It had never been a chronic habit, but some days he just didn't care. Today he instead cared very much about something else.

Anastasia's lab partner was there though, waiting at the lab bench as if it were normal, despite there not having been enough time to develop a normal.

Anastasia took her seat, a little relieved that she wasn’t going to be forced to sit beside Bolt even if he had been in class. She couldn’t really blame him for not being there, since this entire situation was…. It was hard. So much that, if it weren’t because she’d already set her boundaries, she’d have forgiven him already.

"Are you alright?" Hal asked, after he'd politely greeted her. He didn't know her well, of course, but she seemed.... disgruntled in a different way than the day before. But who knew, maybe she just wasn't a morning person.

“Not really.” Anastasia admitted, since there was no use in lying. She was exhausted- more emotionally than anything else- and it was obvious despite the bad mask she tried putting on over it. “I didn’t really sleep last night.”

"Ah," Hal said, nodding his understanding. Whatever the cause, lost sleep could disrupt anyone's day. "Did you get any coffee this morning, at least?" It didn't really help, but sometimes it could give that false idea of feeling more energetic.

“I skipped out on that too.” Anastasia replied, shrugging a shoulder because it wasn’t like coffee would help her much anyways. “I’ll be fine, though. You don’t have to worry, if that’s what you’re doing.”

"Worry, no. I'm sure you can take care of yourself. This was supposed to be conversation," Hal said, but shrugged a little. He couldn't blame her for not wanting to discuss her state, but they had time so he inquired. Small talk without a point wasn't his strong suit, however.

“Bad conversation, maybe.” Anastasia replied, giving him half a smile so that he’d know she was joking. Talking to him felt a little like talking to Bolt- without the attraction, anyways. Bolt kinda took it all for himself.

Hal laughed a little, surprised she had joked. She'd been lighter the day before, but he still hadn't expected her to say something like that to him. "Well, I tried."

About then, someone, presumably the teacher, slipped Anastasia a note saying she was needed in the main office.

Anastasia sighed but took the paper, moving on to pack her things. With her luck, she was going to be asked for more help and truly loose all the free time she had. “I’ll try to be back soon but I wouldn’t count on it.” She told him, since she was his partner and all. “Marcie needs a partner too, anyways.”

"Ah, alright. Well good luck," Hal said. From the school he'd come from, being asked to the office very rarely meant good things. He'd learned that this place wasn't that bad, but considering he rarely heard people be asked to the office?

“You too.” Anastasia said, giving him half a smile again before she slipped out of the class. She took her time too, since she really didn’t want to deal with anything in her diplomatic persona or anything like that.
