“I don’t think it works like that, love,” Lavender told her.
Tyler shook his head and backed away from them and held his other hand over the cut. “It’s pretty bad, so I think you guys should just stay away from it!”

"Is there a reason, mate?" Jackson asked cautiously. "Get something to cover it. Then get yerself t' the infirmary."

Jackson packed up his stuff. "Strange kid," he replied. Dahlia smiled slightly at him as she picked up her pencil then left the room with everyone else.

"Very strange," Maria-Louise added quickly as she followed after them. She hadn't even seen what had happened, she just wanted to be included.

“Did you know they’d assign partners?” Anastasia asked no one in particular as she looked at the chart posted by the door, not very amused. Not because she would die or anything because of it, but because she was used to sitting with either Marcie or Mavis- and Bolt now, obviously.
“How would I know? I don’t chit chat with the teachers.” Mavis asked, blowing out her gum before popping it and chewing it again. Her arms were crossed and she was leaning against the wall right outside of class, pretty done with school despite this only being the second class she had to go to.

"It is unprecedented," Bolt commented. He was a little bothered, but it wasn't like he had a huge problem with it. Before he'd been Anastasia's partner more or less the entire previous year, he hopped around to whoever didn't have anyone or was doing poorly. This would be similar. "But it's probably only this class."

“I have a hard time wanting to talk to people. I can do it just fine, but I can’t find myself enjoying it until many weeks later.” Anastasia replied, rolling her eyes but going over to where she was supposed to be sitting. “Plus, being your partner was… easy. Now I have to find time to work with someone else too.”

"I never thought I'd see the day where you'd say working with me was easy," Bolt teased. He knew it hadn't been so bad since he didn't have to rely on her for everything like some students did, but he had also stirred up a lot of trouble. "This class usually doesn't assign much homework though, so you just have to get along with them in class."

Bolt smiled when she snapped at him, amused that she was so annoyed. He understood, of course, but there was no point when they couldn't change it anyway. "Just hold on for one class," he teased, closer to her ear, before leaving her and heading to his own seat.

Timothy barely paid any mind to anyone as he went to sit on one of the empty tables near the back, choosing to ignore the partner chart thing because he was pretty sure they’d just move whoever was unlucky enough to sit with him. Right now, the only thing he was worried about was the coming headache he had no idea of how he’d gotten.

Bolt hadn't made it to his assigned seat before Anastasia's view was blocked by her lab partner arriving. He was built differently than Bolt but just as large so he wasn't something to be looked around easily.
Aurora went to sit at her seat on time, bemoaning the fact just a little that she'd ended up at the back of the class. Clearly no one had taken height into account. She was average size which meant she was smaller than most of the people in front of her.

"I am. It's nice to meet you," Hal said and offered an easy smile. He'd seen her around before but never had any reason to speak to her. Obviously their circles were not the same. "This arranged seat thing will be interesting."

"I guess. I don't usually work with other people," Hal answered. Even during group projects or whatever it was, he still usually ended up doing it on his own. It wasn't a problem, and his grades were decent. It wasn't like he tried either, it just...happened.

"Especially when it isn't something you chose," Hal agreed. But she didn't seem like she'd be a poor partner to work with, it would just be...new and strange. He wasn't really excited for it, but it still might be alright.

Bolt caught her looking at him and winked, briefly enough that no one would have noticed but her, hopefully. Honestly he didn't care who saw them- he just didn't want any drama about it.

Over the course of the class, Bolt made sure to tease her more so she would barely even notice that they weren't sitting together. Or maybe now it could be called flirting, but he liked teasing better. Things like snatching materials from the shelf before she could, lightly tugging a piece of her hair as he passed her, simple annoying things that wouldn't be noticable.

Bolt glanced at the beaker in his hand, amused. "You do?" he asked, clearly sounding like he didn't believe her. "How much more?" His eyes flashed with mischief, glad she was playing along. If the annoyance hadn't been so obviously tinged with something like delight it would be just like old times.

Bolt held it up out of her reach, which wasn't that hard for him. "Then I'll let you have it...for a price," he answered, looking thoughtful of what he could possibly charge her for this. There were many options.

"I still have it, and am capable of keeping it away from you, so yes. I think I'm in a pretty good position for blackmail," Bolt replied, a smirk tugging at the side of his mouht.

Bolt leaned in closer to her ear. "I want to sneak away for another kiss after class," he whispered, grin growing. He was quiet enough to get his voice under the sound of the classroom, so that no one with advanced hearing could get it unless they were suspicious. "Feel free to look scandalized."

"You could, but that doesn't mean they'd be successful," Bolt answered, appreciating how easily he could affect her. His role in this facade was easy. All he had to do was act like himself- tease her as if he was trying to make her break, like he wanted to make her mad.

Bolt reached for her collar and pulled it back to peek at the bite marks she tried to hide before replacing it like nothing was amiss. "Not until these are fully healed," he answered and winked at her.

"Deal," he answered, his smirk softening at the edges as he seemed to get with her. The worst thing was that he now had to give her the beaker and let her go, ending the longest moment they'd had this morning. But he let her take it and went back to his seat without anything else in his hands. He and Marcie had just about finished their project so there was no need to get anything really.

"I think we're almost done. That's the last thing we need," Hal said when Anastasia brought the beaker back to their station. He felt like they'd been efficient, but had missed why this last pick up took her so long.

"Didn't want to hang out with me after?" Hal lightly teased. It was an off handed statement, nothing like the pointed teasing that Bolt so often employed.

"Are you that busy?" Hal asked, only a little skeptical. How busy could a human being be? Especially when she was still in school. Out of school.... it could be too much

"Not literally?" Hal asked, not sure how that could be a thing but he didn't press for information. It didn't mean that much to him.

"I see," Hal said. "So then not even time for lunch with me?" He was testing the waters a little, because she wasn't seeming rude, but not over friendly either. Civil.
Dahlia, who was closest, looked him over. "It's not bad, is it?"
