This is a fictionalized story of George, who is traveling with his little sister and aunt aboard the Titanic. He meets and develops a friendship with Marco and his four-year-old son Enzo, who are traveling from Italy to New York. George is quite curious and is determined to fully explore the boat, which winds up being a big part of his salvation as the boat goes down.

I thought there would be far more historical and technical references to the boat. A lot of kids are fascinated with the actual sinking of the ship, but this is far more focused on the character's story. It's also more juvenile and simplistic than I anticipated. It is listed as having a 4.0 reading level, but this feels like third grade to me. It will probably serve reluctant readers in the fourth grade well though.
