On Dit - Strong secondary characters

I'm reading The Bargain by Mary Jo Putney, and I keep thinking: the real heroine of this one is not the alleged main female character, Jocely, but Sally, David's stubborn and pragmatic sister. Do you agree?

I have not read that one, but I have read ones where the secondary character is the strongest IMO. For example, Rangoon has a secondary hero-type who felt like the true hero of the book.

Thanks to Joanna for suggesting me this title, Rangoon, which seems pretty intriguing...now that I think about it, another Mary jo putney's book, Petals in the storm, has a very interesting secondary male character, Robin: he actually deserved his own book and finally got it. In general I really appreciate stories where the plot is complex and the H and h are not the only ones struggling for their love: it gives more intensity to the whole book.

Mahak- I think that counts. It's what I wish for if there is a good secondary character.

As to Rangoon, I would note that the central romance annoyed me mostly. The world developed around them is really great though.
