This was never a really popular book I have been struggling to find it for a while. I first read it on wattpad but then the author said they were going to move it to amazon so it no longer appears on the read area. It would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me out. So there is this tower and it is where all the mages learn their magic, but before you become a mage you have to have your dream where a demon appears and tries to take your body from you. In the story the main character (a boy) has his dream and the demon doesn't take over but gets stuck in his mind. He and the demon work together to cast a spell to remove said demon, but he messes up and the demon then ends up getting stuck there more permanently. In the end to avoid getting killed he leaves the tower and goes off on an adventure to help out one of his elders because there is some tension in the tower. The rest of the story would kind of spoil it so I don't want to say. If anyone thinks they figured it out please leave a comment it would ease my mind greatly.

I do not remember the username no, but I believe it was around 2010-12. Thanks for your interest guys!
This reminds me of Raistlin from the DragonLance series.One of the books has short stories, including Raistlin taking his wizard test in a tower.
Hmm.. that wasn't the book I read but I will certainly check them out thanks for posting!
