End of chapter 12 (view spoiler)[ I love that Rick Riorsan has written a book like Percy that readers can read but learn something about the gods. Maybe people who read the book will want to learn more and look into the background stories of the gods.


Percy is a kid thrown into this different world and expected to do something to help. I think he handles it pretty well.

This is a simple and enjoyable read that I have read before but still enjoy reading again because Rick has created characters that are understanding and you root for or don't. He has done a great job.

Can we take a minute and just appricate the chapter titles. I always get a laugh out of them while reading. Like chapter 26 " we take a zebra to Vegas. That's a weird chapter title but it works. Rick can come up with some weird titles. (hide spoiler)]

Really Percy all he could come up with was bad..

Final Thoughts
(view spoiler)[ Percy, Grover, and Annabeth reminded me a lot of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and that bothered me a lot at first. The story is completely different, so I can forget the character comparisons. I really liked how each part of the adventure was different and unique. They were very clever too. The part with Medusa was probably my favorite just because I love that particular myth. (hide spoiler)]
