Melani Barr | 6 comments Sounds reasonable. BUT my novel started out at over 200,000 words for both books one and two and I have already cut them into four books. Removing stuff now is where I need help. I think I could get down to 90,000 but not sure I can drop much more.

Anyone want to tackle such a book for under $50? :P

Melani Barr | 6 comments Thank you, Joshua. That is certainly something to consider.

J.R. Alcyone | 315 comments Are you an agent? The reason I ask is most agents seem to seek and recommend manuscripts of around 70-100K words.

If you're aiming to get published, your word counts seem to be too low. As a reader, I generally look for books between 275 to 400 pages. (Which is 68K to 100K words, right in line with what agents seem to look for...)
