QUESTIONS for The Summer of Impossible Things

it's time to get ready for our interview with Rowan Coleman regarding her wonderful book The Summer of Impossible Things!

I wanted to finish the book before posting my questions, so here they are =)

As Luna is a physicist: Have you studied or are you interested in physics?
What inspired you to write about time travel and has the writing process been any different than for your other books?
Do you believe in parallel worlds?
If you could travel in time, past or future, where would you like to go?

This ones are about the end:
(view spoiler)[I'm lacking explanations on how the things that happened where even possible. Why was it for Luna possible to travel back? How could another version of her, that doesn't exist any more, still have been real in 1977? I mean, if she never has been born, how could she have been there? (hide spoiler)]

I just finished the book and I have to say I´m totally hooked!
The Summer Of Impossible Things truly was one of the best books I read in years. I enjoyed every single page of it.

My questions:

Where did you get your first inspiration?

Did you already knew how it all comes to end or did you even changed it in your mind during your writing process?

What was your favorite moment and who is your favorite character?

Is there a reason that you choose the year 1977 specifically?

And here´s what I don´t get:
Why didn´t Riss kill her attacker in the third version, respectively knew this time, that she failed to do so?
