Deleting a preview

I would like to change the preview currently showing for one of my books here. It is from a 2005 edition. How can I accomplish this, and is it possible to delete the 2005 edition (and others) in favor of the most recent edition?

there also is no preview I can see on your books, if you mean the description of the book, then that can be updated

I am logged in on Firefox. When I click on the title listed in My Books, it takes me to the page. Under the cover image I see "Preview". I click that and up comes the 2005 edition. I went to Goodreads on Chrome, but didn't log in. When I typed in the title, the book appeared...but no Preview option. I think under the circumstances that's good.

BTW, following your instructions on how to change the (non-existent) preview, there seems to be no option to select the latest edition for preview or appearance.

There is no way to change a preview, in fact GR just removed the ability to add / update a preview manually, and the only previews allowed are those on kindle editions automatically pulled from Amazon.

To get the preview removed - you will need to contact GR Support.

THe info in msg4 of the link I gave you will allow you to change the default edition that displays to the end user should you wish to make it the newest edition rather than the edition most shelved by users

Patrick, the Preview you're referring to differs from the ebook excerpt feature, which, as mentioned by Paula above, was discontinued.

In contrast, the Preview button appears on books that have associated Kindle editions and have samples already available on Amazon. These then feed through to our site. If you'd like to change the sample that appears, it'll be best to contact Amazon support here for further assistance.

Thank you Jaclyn. I'm assuming (never assume) that you're referring to the "Look Inside" feature at Amazon? At Amazonbooks, the current edition appears. I'll contact their support regarding the feed, however. Even so, Paula informed me that no preview for my book appears when she went to my book page here, which is good, because the one I see when I go to my page is from the 2005 edition. Odd that it would show up on my screen and no one else's.

Thanks for clarifying Patrick. I am referring to the "Look Inside" feature and can also see the sample on Goodreads doesn't match your newer one on Amazon's side. Quick question – did you recently update your sample there? If so, it could be caching. If not, I'll ask an engineer on our side to take a closer look.

No. I think I did take it down, perhaps six months ago, in order to delete a word, or add a comma or something. Maybe that affected the Look Inside at Amazon, but not the preview at Goodreads? Clarifying :) I DID put it back up, of course.

Historically, I haven't had much luck trying to contact Amazon, but I'll definitely follow the link you provided.
