Writer Isabel Vincent writes about her friendship with ninety-something Edward, which develops when her old friend, Edwards' daughter, asks her to look out for him after Edward's wife dies. This is a memoir involving food (he loved to cook), friendship, and how he helps her through her last year in a crumbling marriage while she helps give him purpose to continue living after promising his wife to stay alive after she dies.

The writing is fine, but this type of memoir isn't really my cup of tea.
