Since Lura mentioned this in the "to read" thread, thought I'd separate them out :)

Everywhere. I take a notebook and pen with me everywhere! (I have a small metal one that fits in a back pocket; it's perfect for taking notes). I recently purchased a new laptop bag that has room for just about everything I used to carry in a purse. So I take that with me almost everywhere. I don't take it to the grocery store, but that's about the only exception. ^_^
I write best at my computer, even if I'm making notes with pen & paper, but I get so many ideas outside that I am saving for a laptop. I live out in the forest you see, surrounded by hills, trees and birds. It's proven to be very inspiring!
I live out in the middle of nowhere too. ^_-
We (hubby and myself) live near the end of a small dirt road. There is a farm both beside us and across the street from us - same farm in both cases. There's only enough of our land cleared for the house and driveway, and the forest keeps trying to reclaim the driveway... ^_^

I have some noisy out spoken dsytime neighbors, so i'm a nocturnal about my writing. I prefer sitting a large sofa with a lamp and a notepad, and during the day in a bus or street car.
At work. :) I'm in a cubicle by myself, hidden from everyone. So I put in earbuds and write when I don't have work to do.
I like to write in night, in peace usually on my laptop. It helps me to save paper while correcting over and over again.
I write primarily on my laptop and move it around the house with me in different rooms from week to week just to change up my surroundings; library, guest room, living room (in my recliner) and dining room table. All with a notebook and pencil nearby.
It's a quiet sunny morning and birds are singing to the sun. I love to write anywhere in the morning - the world is still and I can listen to my own thoughts!
I'm most comfortable writing on my bed, in my room, where I am surrounded by my work. I sit cross legged, though I really shouldn't, medical reasons and the like. But there's something so serene, so inspiring, so perfect about being there that begs the flow of ink across my paper. Maybe it's the fact that I'm surrounded by things that make me comfortable or the sway of the trees from my window or the colour of my walls. But I find that no where else do I write as well as in my room. I don't know.

Susan, that sounds like a fabulous place to write.

I can write most anywhere, but prefer coffee shops or home. I've thought about bringing my lap top to work sometime.
I need a soundless tomb, but lacking that, a pair of earplugs work just fine. I can write just about anywhere as long as I can cut out the annoying business person on their blackberry and the kids' show theme song.
Currently I'm stuck writing in my living room, where just about anyone can walk by and peer over my shoulder.(Which is why I choose to write at night when everyone is asleep.) My favorite to write is in a room by myself, where I can close off everything around me. I also like to entertain the thought that I would write better in the bathroom, because more of my creative is formed when I'm in the bathroom for some reason. ^.^
I write at a messy desk on m 'puter. I also have a few note pads scattered around for the odd idea that pops up from time to time.

Me too.
I write mainly in the evening, but I have found that early morning works well too. I can write in the middle of the day, but I have to pull my way through it. Regardless the time of day, I try to write down something just to keep up the momentum.
I've found writing on a computer works better for me than paper (going back and fixing words and sections is A TON easier to do).My ideal place is the room we've set aside as my study/office, with a great view to our backyard where I can watch our chickens' antics while I write. Silence also really helps. My husband loves writing to music. Me...not so much.
To make it perfect I'd love more windows, actually, and perhaps a small balcony for when the weather is nice.
K.F. said, I've found writing on a computer works better for me than paper (going back and fixing words and sections is A TON easier to do).Agreed. I used to write on paper, but don't anymore for the same reasons. Also, it's much faster and I can't read my handwriting most of the time.
Glad I'm not the only one who gets confused reading what I've written on paper!Me: "Is that an I or a 1, or maybe an L?"
Husband: "I don't know, you wrote it."
Anywhere on my laptop, but I prefer my standing desk as it keeps me from having to sit for hours straight (I can't stand sitting for that long unless I've just come back from a very long run). But as long as I'm mixing things up (with standing and sitting that is), cafes, a park, the middle of the woods. They all work for me.
