Not much I can tell about the book. Only read the premise when browsing. I know the heroine has a male partner and I think they're both detectives. She's a single mother (I think). I also have a vague idea of vampires, wolves or other paranormals.

Relatively recent. No more than 5 years. Pretty sure it was a series.

I have no idea. I never read it. One of those books you're not sure about and decide not to put in your TBR and then 2 days later you can't seem to stop thinking about it. I've pretty much given up by now.

Staci Simpson has a series about vamps who run a resort... Myths & Legends. They are also shifters, but had been cursed to not shift and mate by the bad guys. Second book (maybe 3rd) focuses on the detective trying to nail the vamps in the first book. She has a teenage daughter. Think her partner (cop) was a guy, but from memory, he's not got too much of a part.
