I am on page 129. A cultural difference between Germans and Americans in this chapter is that the Germans seemed to all be described by the narrator as either skinny, ugly, or have poor hygiene. The Germans are described as less clean and respectfully mannered as well. Billy is facing conflict because he is still being held as a prisoner of war.
