Sean Hazelton I am on page 17 of the book. A culturally interesting point is that in Germany, the war is seen as stupid and irrelevant to the citizens of Germany and they wish for world peace and to end the war. Vonnegut is facing conflict because he struggles to remember details and information about the war. He goes to find an old friend to help him.
