Melissa Rozario | 2 comments Hi I'm Mel from London.

I am a writer / illustrator and am working on my own children's book. I love reading and started a small book club of my own last year. Keen to speak with similarly impassioned readers. I'm also really into dinosaurs.

Nice to meet you all *tip of the hat

message 202: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Rozario | 2 comments That was supposed to say 'I'm also really into dinosaurs'.

As I write for children I tend to spend most of my time reading from the middle-grade and YA section. However I am keen to broaden horizons and read something I would never have picked up by myself ☺️

Anne | 2 comments 'A simple !Hello! could lead to a million things'

So here goes 😉 My name is Anne. I live in Union, WA on the Hood Canal of Puget Sound. I love photography, art and reading. I collect books to my reading list like Imelda Marcos collected shoes. I love them all, especially books that fit into no particular genre. I have fallen for Eowyn Ivey, an Alaskan-based writer who wrote The Snow Child and her newest book, To The Bright Edge Of The World. At the moment I am reading the newest book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, Tower Of Dawn. I also have high hopes of becoming a book fairy here in the Pacific Northwest on Sept. 18th. 🎉📚📖🔖

Judi Easley (7430524-judi-easley) Hi! I'm Judi and I live in Derry, NH, USA. I do a book blog and will read almost anything. My mother read Golden Books to me as a child and I started reading on my own as soon as I could. I read Golden Books to my children when they were small and they now read all the time, too. My husband is a reader as well. It's more usual for everyone to be reading in the evening that having the TV on here. Apparently, NH has no Official fairy, yet. We'll have to do something about that soon. Who are the NH fairies out there now?

I started a book club with some friends a year and a half ago which was fabulous as we all have different tastes. Plus I get a ton of use out of the e-books my library offers.

Shawna | 6 comments Hello, I'm Shawna from Milton, Ontario. I'll read pretty much anything but I have a fondness for fiction with a hint of magic realism. I've been wanting to read some classics so this first Fairy Book Club pick is an exciting one for me.

message 217: by Carol Ann (new)

Carol Ann (carolann1428) I'm Carol Ann from Southeast Idaho. And yes, I'm totally a potato lovin' gal. Baked, fried, mashed, you name it. I love them! : )

I have always loved reading but didn't keep up with adult books while raising my kids and then when they were a bit older I went back to college and worked full-time. I graduated a few years ago and now am an empty-nester, so here I am passionately trying to catch up on all the books I've missed and re-learn how to read simply for pleasure! I'm not a fast reader but I enjoy most genres and love the excitement that comes from learning new things and experiencing new places via books. I especially enjoy great conversations with other book lovers.

I'm thrilled to be part of the group and to join in on the read-along.

message 218: by Jo (new)

Jo Sturgess | 5 comments Hi everyone, I'm Jo and I live in Swindon in the UK. I've been a massive bookworm since I was a kid and come from a long line of avid readers :)

I read all sorts from contemporary fiction and biographies to fantasy and historical fiction.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this first book as I've started a challenge to read a classic book a month and not tried this yet but vaguely remember an adaptation on BBC when I was a teenager.

Looking forward to getting to chat with some of you and sharing some book joy :)

Amanda (mommy2gb) | 4 comments Hi! I'm Amanda from South Carolina, US. I love all types of books.
Twilight series and Harry Potter series are the reasons I adore YA books. I love murder mystery - Women's Murder Club, Rizzoli and Isles, NYPD Red. I also like everyday, normal life novels - The Summer Girls series, The Guardian, The Choice, Long Way Gone, The Longest Ride, When Crickets Cry.
J.K.Rowling, James Patterson, Nicholas Sparks, Charles Martin, Mary Alice Monroe are a few of my favorite authors.
Reading is my passion and, thankfully, I have passed that on to my two girls, 9 and 11. We visit our local libraries weekly and listen to audiobooks on the way to school everyday.

message 234: by Gaijinmama (new)

Gaijinmama | 1 comments Hi.
Gaijimama here, originally form both coasts of the U.S.A. but living permanently in Tokyo, Japan. I read anything and everything. For some reason, I only enjoy one novel at a time, but I'm usually working on a couple of nonfiction books and maybe a volume of poetry. I especially love fantasy and historical fiction, but I try to read at least two or three classics a year. I teach English for a living and it is shocking how many of the classics I haven't read yet! That said, if a book bores me I give up and put it aside. Life is too short and my shelves are too full to waste time on something that doesn't really grab me.
Glad to be here, and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I welcome friend requests!

message 240: by heartinbooks (new)

heartinbooks | 1 comments Hello!:)
I’m Barbara, I’m from Italy and my love for books has always been endless! Since I was a child I’ve spent hours reading and when I was younger I was even able to skip meals and my mom was so concerned about that ahah. Now I don’t have all this time to read, ‘cause I’m attending university, studying foreign languages and literature (obviously I had to choose something where books were involved ahah).
I love almost every genre, mostly because I’m curious and eager to know new things all the time, so I’m always happy to read a book whether it’s a classical, a novel, a history book, a religious one, a fantasy, a thriller and so on!
So I’m really glad to join this club! :)
