The Fairy Book Club discussion
Welcome to the Fairy Book Club!

Introductions!

As I write for children I tend to spend most of my time reading from the middle-grade and YA section. However I am keen to broaden horizons and read something I would never have picked up by myself ☺️

So here goes 😉 My name is Anne. I live in Union, WA on the Hood Canal of Puget Sound. I love photography, art and reading. I collect books to my reading list like Imelda Marcos collected shoes. I love them all, especially books that fit into no particular genre. I have fallen for Eowyn Ivey, an Alaskan-based writer who wrote The Snow Child and her newest book, To The Bright Edge Of The World. At the moment I am reading the newest book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, Tower Of Dawn. I also have high hopes of becoming a book fairy here in the Pacific Northwest on Sept. 18th. 🎉📚📖🔖

I've just discovered this wonderful thing that is the Fairy Book Club and I'm eager to start taking adventures with you all.

My name is Manuel and I'm from Austria. I found this group on the "featured" page and thought I'd join as I love the Brontë sisters' work (current group read).
So, well... Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

I'm really looking forward to discovering and discussing new books with you all! :)

I have always loved reading but didn't keep up with adult books while raising my kids and then when they were a bit older I went back to college and worked full-time. I graduated a few years ago and now am an empty-nester, so here I am passionately trying to catch up on all the books I've missed and re-learn how to read simply for pleasure! I'm not a fast reader but I enjoy most genres and love the excitement that comes from learning new things and experiencing new places via books. I especially enjoy great conversations with other book lovers.
I'm thrilled to be part of the group and to join in on the read-along.

I read all sorts from contemporary fiction and biographies to fantasy and historical fiction.
I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this first book as I've started a challenge to read a classic book a month and not tried this yet but vaguely remember an adaptation on BBC when I was a teenager.
Looking forward to getting to chat with some of you and sharing some book joy :)

My favorite genres are historical fiction and fantasy (preferably both), folklore, fairy tales, history, and various world mythologies.
I look forward to discussing books with all of you. ^^

Hola Ester!
Hola Ester!

I'm Janet and I'm from Canada. I've loved the written word all my life, why I'm a writer, and read all the time to improve myself, my writing and my enjoyment of books. Nice to meet you all.
:)

Twilight series and Harry Potter series are the reasons I adore YA books. I love murder mystery - Women's Murder Club, Rizzoli and Isles, NYPD Red. I also like everyday, normal life novels - The Summer Girls series, The Guardian, The Choice, Long Way Gone, The Longest Ride, When Crickets Cry.
J.K.Rowling, James Patterson, Nicholas Sparks, Charles Martin, Mary Alice Monroe are a few of my favorite authors.
Reading is my passion and, thankfully, I have passed that on to my two girls, 9 and 11. We visit our local libraries weekly and listen to audiobooks on the way to school everyday.

Hi Amanda! Oh wow, that is amazing that you are encouraging your children with reading in different ways :)

I love being taken to new worlds and escape into book reality.

My name is Mary and I am currently living in Johnson City Tennessee (United States) and going to grad school at East Tennessee State University getting a masters in Archival Studies. I love reading historical fiction, chick-lit, young adult, memoirs, fantasy. I'm up to read anything as long it has a good plot and characters, and the writing is good.

I m Alexandra,
I love to read fantasy book and réflexion one !
Currently I'm finishing The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf 💪🏻and HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling 😍📚
I live in Switzerland in Lausanne !
And I just receive my Bookfairies start kit two days ago !💚📚💚📚💚

Gaijimama here, originally form both coasts of the U.S.A. but living permanently in Tokyo, Japan. I read anything and everything. For some reason, I only enjoy one novel at a time, but I'm usually working on a couple of nonfiction books and maybe a volume of poetry. I especially love fantasy and historical fiction, but I try to read at least two or three classics a year. I teach English for a living and it is shocking how many of the classics I haven't read yet! That said, if a book bores me I give up and put it aside. Life is too short and my shelves are too full to waste time on something that doesn't really grab me.
Glad to be here, and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I welcome friend requests!

I am Quinty from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I'm an aspiring professional dancer, and whenever I have time in between training, rehearsals en performances, I love to pick up a good book! I especially enjoy Fantasy and Science fiction, but I like to read many other genres as well. I'm very excited to be part of this group!

I'm speaking French so maybe I've made some mistakes... so sorry for that!
Bonjour à toutes!!!

I'm Laura from Italy and I'm really exited about this group!
Well, I like classics but also criminal fictions and thriller, my favourite book is The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov and I'm looking for discover new books and new adventures with all of you!

I’m Barbara, I’m from Italy and my love for books has always been endless! Since I was a child I’ve spent hours reading and when I was younger I was even able to skip meals and my mom was so concerned about that ahah. Now I don’t have all this time to read, ‘cause I’m attending university, studying foreign languages and literature (obviously I had to choose something where books were involved ahah).
I love almost every genre, mostly because I’m curious and eager to know new things all the time, so I’m always happy to read a book whether it’s a classical, a novel, a history book, a religious one, a fantasy, a thriller and so on!
So I’m really glad to join this club! :)

I am so happy to be part of a group of readers again. I am always on the look out for new and great books so suggestions welcome. I am making up for lost "reading for pleasure" time.

We are honoured to be your first ever book club!

I'm Johana and I joined this group first of all due to its name <3 and now I'm just excited to be a part of it. I'm currently reading "Theatre of Gods" and I really like it.
I enjoy reading fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, crime novels, basically everything (though nothing scary, that just gives me nightmares ;) ).
I look forward to seeing what everyone here is reading!

I'm a lover of fantasy, historical fiction, contemporary, crime + thriller stories, sci-fi and a lot of other genres. Right now I'm reading Michael Crichton's "Eaters of the dead" (and am waiting for his new book in November!) and Nahoko Uehashi's "Yume no moribito".
I, too, am looking forward to next month's read~
I am a writer / illustrator and am working on my own children's book. I love reading and started a small book club of my own last year. Keen to speak with similarly impassioned readers. I'm also really into dinosaurs.
Nice to meet you all *tip of the hat
