I was in a book fair and over heard two puzzled girls talking in front of piles of English novels; old and new, for adults and kids... The first said: "What book do you think we should take?" The second replayed "I don't know any of these books... maybe the best way to buy a book is after someone recommend it!"... So I interfered and recommended some books for them :D
But this little conversation got me thinking.... What is the best way to choose a new book to read? I'm sure there are several ways to get by a new book that you may like or hate... But which might grantees the best time reading, that makes you feel comfortable buying and reading it? Is it a recommendation, a synopsis or just luck that makes you pick up a totally new book and start exploring it?
PS: I ended up buying a totally new book that I only knew by name!!
