Karin | 9248 comments I'm going to be frank--I chose to read this because I needed a 9 word title, this was under 200 pages and I quite liked Absolutely on Music: Conversations with Seiji Ozawa. I have tried and chosen not to read one of Murakami's novels, so bear this in mind with my 3 star rating.

This is a memoir, and while it's primarily about running, it does discuss a bit about Murakami's time as a jazz bar owner and also how he became a novelist. I wasn't enthralled by it because I'm not particularly keen on long distance running, including marathons, which Murkami has run many of. That said, it's well crafted and if you like those things or if you are a fan of his novels, then I highly recommend this to you.
