Samantha Burnell | 13 comments Hello

I am sure that some of you all know this already, but it was news to me and I thought I would share it.

Okay so you get to choose a couple of categories when you set the book up,

However you can get more added. There is a link below to one of my books, scroll right to the bottom of the Amazon page and look at how many categories it is showing in a full 10 Kindle categories. I have looked at lot of books on Amazon and quite often they are still just showing on the original 3 categories picked when the book was set up.

Has anyone else done this? More categories means more exposure so this has to be a good thing ?

Marie Silk | 28 comments I see 4 categories for your book on Amazon in USA. It's my understanding that the better the book ranks, the more categories are shown.

Yvonne Blackwood (yblackwood) | 56 comments Hi Samantha, I do not understand who added the additional categories. Did you, or Amazon?

message 6: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Burnell | 13 comments Hi I contacted Amazon via the help and asked them, and they put my two books into 10 categories each. I didn't keep the same categories for the two books the same so they hopefully get a bit more exposure as well. Simple x

Pamela Beverly (writesistah) | 1 comments I don't understand why all authors aren't allowed to do this, that way we would have the same level of exposure to readers. The way it is currently sounds like it limits those of us who don't have a high level of sales.
