There | 121 comments Hi,
I am not sure where to post this query. How do you guys keep track of new books released by favorite authors?

MJ | 1613 comments If be interested to see if there's a way to do this... The only thing I can think of is to FOLLOW you chosen author/s on their profile pages. But it doesn't always work for me, either they aren't updating the page/s and/or I've not set up my alerts properly.

Kat Some authors are on facebook and/or twitter and post updates on their account or page there. Also good are sign-up newsletters or mailing lists if they have any.

Sometimes the publishers have newsletters, and all publishers have websites where you can look up what's new, so if you know who's going to publish it you can check there.

Also worth looking into are fan-run groups or sites on facebook, instagram or twitter, they sniff out a lot of info on upcoming projects.

There | 121 comments Hmm, see there is an option to follow author, but I thought doing that would send me updates for everything they are doing, e.g. Blog blog updates , book signings etc. whereas I am only interested in a update whenever their new book comes out.
There are some authors whose books I read by default, I don't need any blurb or review.

Aerulan | 1316 comments I use https://www.authoralerts.com/ rather than anything through GR

You sign up with an email addy and 'add' authors you want to be notified about and they'll send you an email when something new gets released. You can even specify the format if you just want to be told about hardbound releases or just ebooks. There's also a list on their site of everything you're following that you can browse and it shows upcoming and released within the last week.

There's also
www.fictfact.com with them you can follow series too and there's a "coming soon" section that lists upcoming books by authors/series you're following.

Neither one sends you anything else no blog posts or book tours or anything just book notifications.

There | 121 comments Thank you, I'll look into these.
But I was hoping there is something here on goodreads for tracking this, I am sure everyone would like to have new book alerts from fav authors?
I don't know if it's possible, but maybe there is someplace here where we can request for new features For goodreads.

There's been a lot of requests for this feature made in the Feedback group but staff has basically said (from what I recall) that it's not on their roadmap for any time soon but they'll keep it in mind. Considering it often takes them years to get to stuff that is a priority, you're better off using whatever is available now than waiting for GR to implement something.

Here's the official; group for feedback and suggestions if you want to take a look over there

Aerulan | 1316 comments There is the new releases section here on GR and they do have an email option. I found it less than useful because you can't choose which authors it includes, it's just by genre or "my authors" which is based on what you've marked as read, even if you shelved the book as a 1 star and put it on a "hated it" shelf you'll still get notified about new books by that author.

Thank you. I'll just make a request. It can't hurt to have one more requesting for this feature 🙂

Ingo (ilembcke) | 669 comments Although some have already been mentioned here is what I use,
compiled and linked:

Amazon (in each country?) has a "Follow" Button for authors, at least the current ones, and although it says follow, so far I received only mails when a book is published - if I would receive more, I would have stopped that fast...
How to look up, and change what you receive?

Amazon Delivers, mangement page

Also good, but some send a mail the day the book is published and in the store, if you want to pre-order, you have to keep that in mind (also I am not sure now, which does what):
Author Alerts

Author Alarms

For automatic price check I use eReaderIQ, but as I do not
life in the USA but in Germany, it is more miss, than hit.
And even when not, often I do not want that book anymore.
eReaderIQ.
But YMMV.

Also, I due to not so good eyesight, I do not like to buy
used paperbacks, which are often with a very small print.
My focus is on ebooks, where I can adjust the font size as
needed, so that also reflects in the services I use, which
focus on ebooks.

And remember:
