Angie | 42 comments Romance. Heroine was raised by aunt and uncle I believe. Hero dated heroine. She pretended to be the type of woman she thought he wanted but she's actually an innocent. He thinks shes kinda cold hearted because she doesnt want to go to her cousins birthday. Heroine actually prefered to spend the day with him. He meets her cousin, aunt and uncle on the day of her cousins birthday because they went to the same resturant. The heroine notices an interest between the hero and her cousin so she tells her cousin to go to the restroom with her and warns her cousin off. She tells her cousin that hes her guy and to basically stay away from him. The cousin is suppose to be the innocent sweet good girl who is perfect wife material. I dont remember which but i believe the heroine goes away on buisness for a while and when she comes back the hero breaks up with her to marry her cousin. While she was away he started seeing the cousin. The heroine was afraid this would happen. Turns out the hero married the cousin because he thought shewould be a better version of the heroine. He quickly learned he was wrong but he couldnt go back and divorce the cousin because she was too fragile so he saw it as his punishment for choosing the cousin over the heroine. Cousin dies and thats where the story starts.
The cousin did feel guilty for what she did, she's not an evil person. There a scene where the cousin and hero come from their honey moon to visit (a family member ,I think she was an great aunt) because she didn't got to the wedding so the cousin wanted her to meet the hero. The heroine was actually staying with this family member but was hiding, she could still hear everything that was being said. The great aunt eventually figured out that the hero used to date the heroine from the conversation  with the cousin. The cousin wants to know how the heroine is doing and If the great aunt knows where she's at. Great aunt is a little cold to the cousins and hero gets mad and defends cousin. Great aunt basically tells cousin she knew what she was doing and that there are consequences to her action. Meaning heroine won't forgive her or see her again.

Venetia had felt desire before. The result? Such a disastrous marriage that she felt she wanted never to experience desire again. And she hadn't--until now.

Ryan Fraine, famous documentary filmmaker, was in New Zealand to set up a new television station. From the moment they met, Venetia, herself a TV reporter, knew this man could make her suffer as she never had before.

So she shied away from his blazing sensuality. Yet there was something else, something in the very core of her soul that wouldn't permit escape....

Yes I remember not liking it either but I told my sister about it a while back and she wants to read it. So I was looking for the book for her. Anyway it is that one, thank you for helping me.
