Hi Grady, here is a step by step guide to joining HARO:
Click on the link https://www.helpareporter.com/
Then when the site opens, click on 'I'm a Source'
On the page that opens, scroll to 'Rules for Sources' and click on 'Read the Rules'. The rules explain what you should or shouldn't do with regards to pitching your responses to journalists, social ettiquette etc.
Then back out of that screen (back button on browser/phone).
Click on 'Subscribe Now'
Look for 'Basic Free' and click on 'Sign Up' directly beneath it.
Fill in the form that opens, you must fill in all of the boxes. Where it asks for the name of your company just type in author. In the 'Annual Revenue' box, just select 'Under 1 Million'.
Then click 'Sign Up'
You'll get an email from them to confirm subscription. Then you'll receive 3 emails a day with a list of journalists queries on which you can answer, just follow the instructions on their emails.
I hope that's helped you. 😊

You might find this link useful if you're an author (or a blogger in fact) who would like to give reporters, of mostly major publications, stories/experiences/products relating to your expertise. This would potentially put your name and book/blog out there in the media if they choose to go with your pitch. They email out queries and you pitch your responses to them if they are relevant.

I've signed up as an author today, and I can't wait for the emails! It's all free, though there is a subscription service if you want it.
I hope that's of help,
