Sure, I would love to!

This is the first year where I have nothing at all prepared for NaNoWriMo....my trilogy is all in edits. And I just have no idea what to write!!!

Cecily Wolfe | 8 comments Thank you to everyone who offered advice about my homeschooled character - The Competition releases on Tuesday but early reviewers are already appreciating not only the presence of a homeschooled character, but the actual character, Cathy, as well. One reviewer said: I also would like to give special appreciation for the homeschooling shout out; I particularly loved those moments.

Cathy is a secondary character but still important to the story, and she really is someone who sets a high standard and is a good example to others. The few homeschoolers I have known in my own life have been just that, which is why I wanted to include a young lady with that background in the book.

I'm picking up writing again this month on The White Rose. After a 440 word count day, I was shocked to discover that I had broken 30K words!

This work is getting bigger and bigger....and I'm really really stoked to see this little baby start to grow. *squeals*

30K, whoo-hoo!! Nice job!

I’m currently not doing anything atm...trying to find a project while I wait to get back my book from the editor.

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments Congrats on breaking 30k!

I haven't been working on much actual writing since November, aside from a single short story in December. I've surveyed my reader newsletter list to decide which of two novels I should work on completing this year (aside from the trilogy I'm procrastinating on), but I'm hoping for more than five responses. :P I'm going to make the results final next Saturday whether I get more feedback or not.

And, as mentioned, I'm massively procrastinating on my main trilogy because it's so draining and tedious to write. I love it, but darn is it difficult to write. :P

Meanwhile, I've been doing a lot of worldbuilding with Worldanvil, getting my fantasy world rebuilt from the ground up and a lot more fleshed out, which has been a lot of fun. :)

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments It's really helpful for keeping things organized and prompting development in areas you might otherwise overlook or forget about. It's helped me deepen a lot of my worldbuilding, I think. :)

Thanks, R.M!

I've heard of World Anvil, but haven't played with it much. Mostly, I've been relying on Melissa Gravitis's Questions to Ask series, which is super helpful for me.

Wrote another 1k+ today! Starting to flesh out a wee bit of the conflict and action, but stayed mostly exposition today. Gotta start somewhere, right?

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments Ooh, Melissa's series is really good. :) I haven't actually read most of the posts (because I'm not developing things when they come up and then I forget once I am), but I've read a few of them and the questions look like they'd be really helpful if I could remember they were there.

Progress is better than no progress. It's definitely a great start!

I’ve really enjoyed Melissa’s series. Even printing it out to scribble in my notes and answers. :)

Might look into worldanvil too. Sounds neat!

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments Printing out the posts is a good idea! I'll definitely have to try that. :)

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments I've been working on the prep for an Asian-inspired fantasy about calligraphers with the power to cement or rewrite time, which I'll be continuing through Camp NaNoWriMo in July. :)

That sounds amazing XD Write it quickly please

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments I'll do my best. I'm really excited about it... but I have yet to determine which of my lovely characters will actually work as the primary protagonist. :P

We need more Asian fantasy!!!

I'm super excited to flesh out the world more and write about it. ^-^ The whole world it's set in pulls inspiration from a bunch of different countries and cultures and it's been SO. FUN. to build and develop. And not only is it super fun, but it's also a learning opportunity, so double points. ;D

R.M. Archer (rmarcher) | 12 comments *raises hand* More than one. I am still working on the Asian fantasy (slowly), but I've also been working over the past few days on outlining a rewrite of a really old story of mine and I'm writing a short story for a contest.

Oh, and then there's the story about a princess who gets annoyed that her dad's not protecting the kingdom from invading wolf-creatures and disguises herself as a soldier to fix it, which I should be filling out since I've "finished" the first draft, but I'm not. :P

What's your new project?

I'm still working on The White Rose and Fair Winds - though The White Rose is taking all my attention now. It's shaping to be the debut - hoping the beta call will go out this fall sometime.

Chloe the MovieCritic | 4 comments Way to go, everyone! Keep up the good work!

I am the worst kind of writer, because I have a million stories in my head, but I never type them up. XD

P.D. (pdatkerson) I'm currently working on a spy book, two spin offs of The Dragon Blade and a sequel to it. Plus just ones that are mainly only ideas.
