One of the reviewers for the book suggested by Julia was similar to Elle Kennedy's series Off campus. I haven't read any of the books, but thought I'd give that suggestion to you.

I doubt this is it, you'd probably have mentioned the magic and it's YA rather than college age (characters are 15 I think) but in Life Reader the MC can tell a set of identical twins apart and no one else can so I thought I'd mention.
