Oh Clark Phil. Thank you SO MUCH for putting that in my head.

Am I the only girl who gawks at passing fire trucks to see if the firemen are cute? I don't chase them. I just want to see if they are. I have no idea why I am compelled to know.

message 606: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
I imagine there are other gawkers. Not including me.

message 607: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I haved a friend who is a captain at a fire house, and one day he was out in the truck doing fire inspections, but they drove buy my work as I was getting in my car, and I didn't see them coming and they honked the horn on the fire truck right as they went by. They scared the living shit out of me, and I bet they are still laughing.

message 609: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Phil, I think they drove rite buy.

Amber, I always look at fireman for eye candy.

message 610: by [deleted user] (new)

Ha! You can't know, Phil, what pleasure I take in someone taking the piss out of Jim for a change!

(That needs to go in the "double meanings" thread...)

Almost, I am having a hard time seeing anything that I am typing, The angioedema is making it difficult to see much. Eyes are almost swollen shut, but not quite.

similar to this today.

What?

Sure, now I feel like an ass...

Sorry, Jim. Here's your piss back.

*takes piss from Phil, hands to Jim*

message 613: by [deleted user] (new)

Allergic or hereditary?

message 614: by [deleted user] (new)

Airway okay?

message 615: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Its been going on and off for about four weeks, eyes, eyebrows, hands, arms, lips and tongue.

There is apparently something in the air right now according to the allergist. I finally took a day off of work.

Phil can keep my piss :-)

message 616: by [deleted user] (new)

Hear that, Phil? Score!

Sorry, Jim. Hope you feel better.

message 617: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Poor Jim! Hope you feel better soon. Does a cool compress help reduce the swelling?

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3594 comments Yay. The member count goes up. Mostly made up of lurkers who are afraid to post (with good reason), but they make a great audience for the thirty or so who do.

I can't figure out how we have 1507 members and only 25 people who post regularly.

message 632: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I think it's like having a Disney World membership or some such thing... The people who live near there actually get value out of it and the people who travel to there and only sign up for savings don't get the same kind of value out of it.

I think some people sign up just to say they're in a group. Maybe they stalk us. Maybe they're covert operatives. Maybe they're just shy or too scared to post here. Maybe they thought it would be fun but they got busy and then forgot they joined this group... who knows.

message 642: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3594 comments I don't get the importance of the member count, but I guess I'm glad we have more members, more viewpoints to share. Seems lately that the group is more open to all points of view.

There are about 100 members remaining. Could we revitalize? Lobstergirl? What do you think?

Time for a bake sale? A raffle? How bout a raffle with $100 tickets, winner receives a tiny house.

CD | 1577 comments Sally wrote: "There are about 100 members remaining. Could we revitalize? Lobstergirl? What do you think?"

I am curious about '100' members. The 'TC' home page shows 1640 as of this AM.

Is there another metric about active users not apparent or obvious?

We do need more active participants I agree.

Contest with no meaningful award other than a big virtualRaspberry or the all time favorite 'attaboy'? Very Terminal Coffee.

Or a survey for all the members to ignore or not at will?

I'll crawl back in to my den; also known as a kitchen and cook something for the crowd now.

I think Sally was exaggerating downward. Of course, the number of members who actually participate is only a tiny fraction of 100, so it's really even worse than her exaggeration.

CD | 1577 comments Lobstergirl wrote: "I think Sally was exaggerating downward. Of course, the number of members who actually participate is only a tiny fraction of 100, so it's really even worse than her exaggeration."

I understand. . .

Looks to me as if a lot of usage and active membership rapidly declined last year.

Too much or Too little Politics?

Maybe a 'member drive'. ( TC-esqe commentary should be inserted below)

Or we could pretend we started another group (remember that tempest in a tea kettle) and then recruit everybody to the 'original'.

I could tell everyone in a never ending series of posts about the coffee variants I've personally tried in the past 6 months.

???????

[ virtual knocking on screen ] Is there anybody out there ?
