Summer might be winding down, but there's still plenty of time to do summer reading! Share what you're reading below to help someone else to find that great read for these last days of summer.

And don't forget, record your books by August 15 for a chance to win! https://saclibrary.beanstack.org/read...

Susan (yetanothersusan) | 203 comments Yesterday I finished The Luster of Lost Things. What a beautiful book! Magical pastry shop, lyrical writing! Now I am reading a book about the Good Friday earthquake that took place in Alaska in 1964. Very educational!

Right now I'm reading The Black Penguin by Andrew Evans. I've followed Evans for more than 7 years on social media, starting when he took a trip to Antarctica via bus and documented it online for National Geographic. This is the story of that trip, but it's also more than that. It's the story of his childhood and how he learned to accept himself as a gay man in an environment that was overtly hostile. Through bullying, conversion therapy and rejection by his family, he sustained himself with dreams of travel and working for Nat Geo. After years of following his adventures, it's a pleasure to hear the whole story, as it were.

At the same time I'm listening to Armada by Ernest Cline. It's not as good as his first book Ready Player One but Wil Wheaton's narration more than makes up for any issues I have with the book itself.

Currently enjoying my eAudiobook of The Bizarre Truth: How I Walked Out the Door Mouth First . . . and Came Back Shaking My Head by Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern. It's exactly like one of his episodes, but in text format!!

I'm also slowing making my way through The Princess Bride, the deluxe super edition with illustrations. I absolutely adore the movie and am liking the book so far, but gosh darn if my arms don't get tired from holding it. It's a heavy book!

Working on Jar City, an Icelandic murder mystery which is fun because the translation seems more word for word than someone's interpretation.
