I suppose St.Thomas would have answered that you can't save yourself, you'd be saved by Christ :-)

The truth is that my friend Alfonseca is right. Although i have ever asked for the merciful of the saints in the process, and the virgin Saint Mary. In the Divine Comedy the process is well explained. 1º It is necessary theknowledge, 2º After the faith, and at finally 3º The grace.

And the faith is a gift from God, and the knowledge is given to us in our seeking it and allowing ourselves to be open to the Truth.
I would ask: How does one become humble? I suspect he would say something like "If you truly understand God's love, you will be humble." Of course, he may have amore profound answer that I can't think of. :-)
