If you haven't read it yet, he also has a short story in the collection of stories named You're in Game! It's about the test of the zombie shaman girl

I honestly don't see the appeal of the shaman series any more.
Between the author rushing to finish the story on the 5th book because he thought he had a contract for 5 books (meaning book 5 was supposed to be the ending of the series) and then writing book 6 and 7 (actually contracted number of books) to appease the backlash after book 5 with the short story, the series is a testament to the hubris of an author.
Please don't forget that whatever boogieman group he came up with in the short story to justify what took place doesn't appear at any other point in the story before.

So he had a contract for 5 books from the start? kindda explains why books 3 and 4 were nothing but filler and re-used ideas. I always thought this was supposed to be a trilogy that got stretched.
the first two books however are pretty good.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. But my tastes tend to favor the Russian LitRPGs a lot, as long as they are decently translated.

I'm the same, most of the Russian ones are a lot better I also like the Japanese Light Novels when translated properly. One of my favourites is Overlord series. It was one of the first LitRPG I read.

Which one? the one that was originally a manga (overlord)? because I read it and it was awesome! I have no idea which volume to get though, I want keep going after the anime ended.

You like litRPG and light novels and Infinite Dendrogram was not on the shelf (I added them)? ;) Mind you, that series is not like Overlord and is true litRPG in the sense that it is set in a full immersive RPG.
Personally I am not a big fan of the Russian litRPG. I like it, but I feel that at times it is a bit too dark for my taste. I also find it telling how nasty PvP tends to be in their stories and how often the protagonist is a lone wolf fighting against guilds or the game company.
Now 17 days to bridge, can't wait...
Picked up Eden's gate, anyone read it yet?
