Hello all of our lovely Addicted to YA members! A couple months ago Annabel stepped down from being a mod, and recently Abigail is now too busy and has also stepped down as a moderator. Mods cycle out because of what a time commitment it is to keep this group so amazing for you guys! SO Erika and I are looking for TWO new mods with lots of free time (and other qualities mentioned below) to join us in making this group amazing!


Here are the qualities we are looking for:

-LOTS of free time
-Active members of Addicted to YA
-6+ months as a member
-Willing to work with and cooperate with the other mods
-Willing to perform moderator duties that they take on
-Has ideas for improving Addicted to YA


General Stuff All Mods Do:

-Come up with BOTM themes
-Bringing new and different ideas/perspective to the mods
-Decide whether or not to proceed with a group giveaway offer
-make sure that topics aren't being spammed
-answer questions posed by group members in the group or by message
-talk to members that are not following the rules of the group
-create a topic about you in the moderator folder


Looking for a Buddy Reads mod:
-We are looking to implement a Buddy Reads folder and system
-Creating the Folder and threads
-Monitoring a submission form
-Pairing people together


Looking for a Challenges mod:
-We are looking to implement more challenges, similar to our BOTM Challenge
-Making Monthly, Seasonal, Bingo card challenges, and accompanying threads
-Coming up with, and collaborating on Challenge themes
-Interested in helping us figure out exactly what we want to do

Been here 6 plus months and would love to help out this group. I love reading YA and would love to help with either of the mod sections your asking about... the challenges or buddy!

I would absolutely love to be a mod for the buddy reads. Buddy reading is one of my favourite things to do and I love encouraging it. I personally find I get through certain books with a buddy that I wouldn't on my own, so I would love to help others find a buddy to experience this with!

I've been on Goodreads for about 6-7 years.
I'm very active and social and have experience running groups in here. I would love the opportunity to be a moderator. I'm a stay at home mom of two kids and 3 pups so my schedule is open and flexible.
I love reading and reviewing, and love helping people and would be super excited for the chance!!

Now I haven't been active in the group and just rejoined after having my son. But I am a hard worker, blogger and can be online at anytime. And check forums as well as clean them through out the day.

I have no problem running contest, buddy reads or anything else you need. I'm not picky at all.
I have basic-intermediate experience with web design as well as networking online. I can help with read to review and communicating with indie authors and arranging interviews.

I've been here for about a year now. While I admit I haven't been the most social I do however keep up with the reading challenges. I work from home part time so I have a lot of time to read and contribute to the group. I would really enjoy becoming more active here. I am a very creative person and would love the opportunity to come up with new ideas. Thank you for your consideration.

I have a lot of free time because I'm at this moment an au pair so when the kids are at school I have the whole day to read!! I have also great Ideas for the challenges!! And next to that I love to read YA books!

I'm interested in becoming a mod, particularly for challenges. I've been a member for about a year now and this is one of my most active groups. I love doing reading challenges - I've already participated in at least a dozen completed/ongoing ones this year - and I think it would be fun to help create challenges that will inspire people to complete their reading goals. I also have no life so I never miss a day on Goodreads =)

I'm interested in becoming a mod for either the buddy read or challenges. I've been a member since the middle of 2015 and I love reading the books that are chosen for the challenges. It would be fun to help out the group and choose fun things for the members to do. I have a lot of free time to work with the group and to do anything that is needed to help run the group.

I check Goodreads every day, and would definitely have the time and dedication to keep up mod duties. In particular, I would love to be a buddy reads moderator and would be interested in implementing and organising such a system.

I would be interested in becoming a Mod for Addicted to YA. I have been a member of the group since April 11, 2013. I am a very avid reader and very active on Goodreads. I keep Goodreads up in the background while at work as well as use the app and my home computer at night. I would be interested in either Mod position. I do enjoy participating in challenges and I would enjoy trying to put them together as well. I am not sure what you are looking for exactly, but I hope you see it here.

Hi Erika and Nikki,

Would love to be considered for a Moderator position for this group. I read a ton of YA... probably too much for no longer being a teenager BUT nonetheless it is my guilty pleasure. Been a member since 2014, mostly reading along with the group. Would love to get more involved!

Currently run this group so have some experience with the moderating challenges mentioned above. Interested particularly in the buddy reads position - love reading books along with others, I think the discussion afterwards is half the value of reading the book! Also have some ideas for challenges and would love to discuss that as well.
