August's Challenge

August's TMS challenge is about all intersectional feminism. Read a non-fiction feminist book written by a person of color.

Our focus is to gain some perspective on the views and experiences singular to people of color, grounded around feminism.

Also, poetry is non-fiction and a great platform for expression.

Please share what you're reading this month and perhaps share some good recommendations.

I was planning to read Ain't I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism by bell hooks, but I am also intrigued by We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Has anyone read either? Any strong recommendations for one over the other?

We Should All Be Feminists is great! Bonus, it's tiny and really short - you could probably read it in like 30-45 minutes iirc.

Oh yeah, you could totally read both. We Should All Be Feminists is an amazing, and short, essay.
