Linda I have to take this back to the library today so I thought I would start the discussion before I do!

Did anyone else get a chance to read this one?

What was your initial impression of Kathy?

What did you think about the gift from her brother?

How did you feel about Kathy and Jason's relationship?

One thing that completely surprised me -- I found out the author grew up in my ward! I have heard ladies in my ward talking about this book which is why I was interested in reading it. I saw the dedication and her parents are a sweet old couple in my ward. I asked just to be sure and this is their daughter :) Pretty fun to know that as I read it. I pictured my high school (her high school!) whenever she was writing about it. :)

Julie (juliecs351gmailcom) | 17 comments I really enjoyed it. I have lost my mother about 13 years ago and anything I can find whether it was a letter written to me or insights to her life, my dad has written down her history, has meant a lot. I was interested throughout the whole story. The relationship between Kathy and Jason was great, because he was a good friend and he did not push his beliefs on others but he shared what he believed with Kathy. He had an enthusiasm about the gospel and Kathy felt that.

Linda I totally agree, having anything from our loved ones who have passed is such a treasure. The first letter Brett wrote to her made me cry, it really made you feel the connection he felt to her. What a blessing for her!

I loved how her family dynamic shifted throughout the book. She felt more a part of the family and less resentful which softened her attitude. I don't usually like reading negativity in people but I thought hers was understandable and I knew it would get better.

I thought Jason could have come across as "too good to be true" but then he had the conflict with the other football players. It was a good balance I think.

The Flipped Page (Susan K) (theflippedpage) | 12 comments Loved the read. Very nice untying of the knot, as it slowly unfolded, and things came out. Nice tension, and nice resolution (I am a HEA person, sorry!)
