What are you reading in August 2017?

I started Ink and Bone the other day. The concept is good, but the writing's not exactly enthralling.

I just got back into Final Empire. Such a great book!

Finished Ink and Bone the other day. It got better... but I wish it was a standalone. Not sure I'm sold on a 5 book series from it.


Now I'm sort of stalled. I can't decide if i want to start Ghostly Echoes or do more Moon Over Soho.

Finished Girls Made of Snow and Glass a few days ago and liked it quite a lot. I've since gone back to Thunder and Shadow and Wizard's First Rule.

I finally finished Assassin's Fate. I pretty much ugly cried the entire last 10% of the book... Which is par for the course with Hobb! It's not even necessarily sad, I liked the ending, it just gets me right in the feels. I will say that it was a tad bit long and drawn out and slow... But I didn't mind because it was also the last Fitz / Fool story. I didn't want it to end, I didn't want to finish it, which is part of the reason why it took me so long to do so.

I listened to Fool's Assassin from Audible, and thinking of getting those last two.

Currently reading Tacitus' Complete Works (I, Claudius fans might like it, as it covers much of that period. Also Suetonius, if you don't mind something a bit more tabloid).

My other book is Angel's Truth by AJ Grimmelhaus. Not been reading it long, but finding it quite gritty and intriguing so far.

Been reading Moon Over Soho. Been liking it a bit more than the first book - possibly because I had lower expectations going in this time. Still not as wowed by the series as a lot of people seem, though.
