Cork questions the violence in his life that doesn't seem to evoke remorse or regret. Your thoughts about his state of mind?

It made me wonder if in the future Cork might be more inclined to use violence than he previously has done. I sense that maybe He might now consider violence to be a means to an end.

That was my takeaway, Angela. I'm wondering if that's a harbinger of things to come. It certainly felt ominous. I thought it sad that he's now seen so much killing that he's now in this kind of place.
