Jose Ortega | 5 comments Basically mention things you wish would have happened in the entire book series. Not just ADWD. I regret not getting a POV from Joffrey, I'd like to know what goes through his mad head.

Rebecca | 800 comments A Mance POV...I think he is a really interesting guy IN the book as he barely makes an appearance in the TV version. Also an Osha POV now and again just to let the reader know where Rickon is. And more Mel POV's.

Also pray God that in TWOW Daenarys will finally think about invading Westeros. It would also be great if the speculation about Jons identity and parentage was revealed.....

Jose Ortega | 5 comments In reply to what you said, I think that author has completely abandoned Rickon and Osha because in TWOW he's going to make them big and VERY interesting, similar to what he did with Theon.

Niklāvs Dāvidsons (niklavs) | 5 comments I would have loved to see some Tywin chapters just to see what was his plans regarding the future events and how was he thinking tp manage them(Mainly Daenerys,Dorne and The Wall).
+I would love to see a character who just goes around the world and lets us see the unseen places on the map-Casterly Rock,Skagos. I would love to explore The Lands of always Winter and Sothoryos. And more, more, more)

N | 234 comments Less repeated phrasing like "where do whores go" "I'm looking for two maids...." "if I look back I am lost" "yes i know oh ho" and so on....would have saved around 100 pages. Less Brienne chapters and chronological last books not split aa they were, my second reading I did chronological and it was so much better.

I agree. It is the one thing in Martin's books that really jar the repetitive nature of his writing. Which includes, 'where do whores go.'.....'You know nothing Jon Snow'.....'Words are wind.'.....'If I look back I'm lost' and the entire Reek madness-it drove me mad!

Satinder | 49 comments I wish Catelyn had had the good grace to stay dead. Would have liked Renly to have lasted a bit longer. And I really wanted Ned to get out of King's Landing with his girls and for Arya to meet up with her mum and bro at Riverrun; but if any of those things had happened, the series would've finished time ago.

Hannah Kelly (herfictionalfelicities) I don't think Brienne is necessary thus far. I find her pretty boring and dont really seen the need to have a pov in the future.

I agree Joffrey should have had a pov. It would have made sense with the storyline and looking back it seemed he was the only major player that didn't have one.

Japhia | 332 comments Id trade the greyjoy povs for a tyrell and mance pov. If not the tyrells at least a Hightower. I'd also have a little less of the "mistaken identity" trope. There are too many characters pretending to be other characters not even including the faceless men. It's needlessly confusing and won't translate well to the tv show.

Silvana (silvaubrey) Yes. A Tyrell POV would be better since we already have too many Greyjoy POVs.

I'd also like a Stannis POV or one of the Arryn's bannermen.

Mitali | 117 comments None of the king characters have ever been a POV. It makes sense, IMO, to keep them at a distance, and let us (the readers) see them through the POV of others, and judge them on the basis of their actions rather than their intentions.

I'm not saying that a Joff POV wouldn't have been interesting (sort of like Cersei's POV - just 10 times more insane ;) ). But I can understand GRRM's reasons for not including one.

I would love a Tyrell POV - Margaery would be great, but Loras might do as well. But I doubt it will happen - GRRM said no new POVs (except in the prologues & epilogues) will be added in the next books.

message 13: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 800 comments @Hannah--Though I like Brienne her chapters do become a bit dull...so there must be a reason for her being there. The only one I can come up with is she will be pivotal to Jaime in some way....

@JaphiaHart--I agree. I would love to have read a Mance or Tyrell POV instead of so many boring Greyjoys!....As for Victarion waffling on..."and Euron was the maddest of them all...' Hello! He has yet to meet his nephew, Reek rhymes with....Anymore of that and I swear I'll YELL loudly!

And a Bloodraven POV would be brilliant!

Keisi Mançellari | 32 comments I guess I never wanted Ned to die, but if he hadn't the whole story would have changed and I would never want that. But I also never wanted Arya to become faceless. I wished a more happy ending for her, like living with Sansa. I still hope Petyr Baelish will die soon.

message 15: by Shii (new) - rated it 5 stars

Shii (shiisreading) | 75 comments Thing I wish would have happened: GRRM finishing the series years ago :D

Yamini (yaminihk) Robb coming back in some form. He was such a poor thing, taking on responsibility. Recently, I read someone's blog that Robb had to be warg, both Jeyne and Catyln heavily hinting on all of the warg-symptoms like "zoning out", "loss of appetite" and an uncanny ability to sync his instincts with that of GreyWind. Also, in the books, Robb's body was never revealed. The only hint we get is the small folks talk about GreyWind's head being sewed to Robb's and taken for a ride. This might well be a ploy to hide robb's true ending, if catyln could brave it all, why cant robb? We also know Walder Frey.*if you know what I mean*.

Satinder | 49 comments Shii wrote: "Thing I wish would have happened: GRRM finishing the series years ago :D"

Ha! Yes.

Maggie (willowpoppy) | 1 comments I just wish all my favourite characters did not keep dying i.e. Ned, Robb, Oberyn, Jon. I hope Jon at least is still alive. I don't want Jaime to die either so Lady Stoneheart better not hang him. At least Tyrion and Arya seem to be safe at the moment. The rest of them can all come to sticky ends as far as I am concerned as I just bow down to the author of this wonderful series of books. I wish Danys story would move on in a more satisfying way as well and please do not kill the Dragons George, enough of animal deaths. Still mourning Lady, Grey Wolf etc.

message 19: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 800 comments @Maggie--I am in agreement with you...Grrm is certainly not afraid 'to kill his darlings' but do does it have to be so many?!

One thing gives me hope....When Dan and David were asking Martin for permission to turn his books into a TV Series he asked them who they thought was Jon Snows mother--The producers gave Martin their answer and he smiled.

My point? Why is the question important if Jon Snow simply gets killed off?....What does it matter who his mother is if the character is killed off?

When it comes to Dany, though I like the character I do find her chapters boring....She needs to invade Westeros or DO something more than 'rule'.....

Laura | 6 comments I wish that the TV series would include (somehow) some of the internal stuff going on in the characters heads. Especially for Jaime.

Rebecca | 800 comments Laura wrote: "I wish that the TV series would include (somehow) some of the internal stuff going on in the characters heads. Especially for Jaime."

This is why I think the books are better; you get to know the characters and not just watch what they do.

Stephanie | 129 comments Argus finding Nymeria.

Stephanie | 129 comments darn auto correct! Arya!

Laura | 6 comments Rebecca, agreed. Another thing I want to happen is for Arya and Jon to be reunited and for him to muss up her hair ;)

Mohammed Rabbani (mohammed_rabbani) | 17 comments For the Stark clan to actually be all together outside the first few chapters of the first book :(

message 26: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 800 comments I wish Catelyn had remained dead. And yes, I'd love to see Arya and Jon reunited....But the biggest thing...No more dead Starks!

Deeptanshu | 27 comments For Khalessi to stop messing about and freakin go to westeros already or alternatively set the Slave coast on fire. Fire and Blood!

message 28: by Sue (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sue | 1 comments I still have hopes for Arya to reunite with Nymeria. I would have loved to have had a Margaery or a Shae chapter, but sounds like that won't happen.

Silvana (silvaubrey) I wish Catelyn stayed dead, Tyrion stayed sane with less frustration and Dany didn't become such an obnoxious teenage girl.

message 30: by Donald (new)

Donald | 17 comments I'd like to see the hound again but I think his tale is over. He's a cripple now so he's done
Idk its hard to speculate on what should have happened cuz it alters the rest of the story

message 31: by Mary (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mary Cheney (marypcheney) | 14 comments I agree with Sue, I want Arya to find her direwolf Nymeria. I would also like Arya to find Sansa, Jon, Bran, and Rickon.

I would love a Stark family reunion but without Lady Stoneheart :).

message 32: by Kirstin (new) - added it

Kirstin | 15 comments I would like for The Hound and Sansa to reunite. She wouldn't be a "little bird" anymore. Also for her and Arya to reunite. They have each grown so much since the last time they were together and were normal squabbling sisters. Actually can just someone reunite?? (Besides Jamie and Cersei). I think we deserve some! sxcgjysdjifcjjb. The suspense is torture.

Juli Cantoni | 32 comments Like most of you, I wish that Daenerys, who was so promising in ASOS, had left Slaver´s Bay instead of staying to rule Meereen, which proved a disaster for her. Tyrion's story in ADWD I didn't like either. And of course, I want a Stark reunion for once and for all!
Also, I would have liked a Robb POV, since he was the only Stark without one (and he was my favourite character, KING IN THE NORTH!!). But I understand why he didn't have one

message 34: by Isabel (new) - added it

Isabel Forte | 25 comments Juliet and why do you think he didn't have one? I've got a little theory of my own ;)

Juli Cantoni | 32 comments Isabel wrote: "Juliet and why do you think he didn't have one? I've got a little theory of my own ;)"

I said it based on the comments in this thread, which I hadn't realised before. That not one of the five kings in dispute had a POV, "to keep them at a distance, and let us (the readers) see them through the POV of others, and judge them on the basis of their actions rather than their intentions".
But I'd still love to hear your theory :)

Joey | 4 comments Wish the Dorne story lines were somehow incorporated earlier on in the series, love every aspect of the characters involved there. Oh, and more Others/White Walkers earlier on

message 37: by Kirstin (new) - added it

Kirstin | 15 comments I completely agree. However I think there is a lot more going on with Dorne that GRRM dosen't want revealed yet. I also think a lot of our answers as readers will be answered by dornish characters.

Silvana (silvaubrey) And yet the lack of Dornishmen in the show is somewhat worrying. Some said no Arianne might mean that her plotline would become useless in the books. But who knows.

Manoushka (lover_of_many_fandoms) | 13 comments Joey wrote: "Wish the Dorne story lines were somehow incorporated earlier on in the series, love every aspect of the characters involved there. Oh, and more Others/White Walkers earlier on"

I agree with having the Dorne story line being introduced earlier on in the series. I would've love to read more on the Martells & the Sands.

Marzietta | 4 comments I appreciate the Dorne story line too, but I think that we are going to hear from them a lot in the following book, for the same reason I like also the Greyjoy part, I don't know if it exists but I'm part of the Team Theon :-D

I wished something more about Edric Storm and Gendry, where are they?!?

Manoushka (lover_of_many_fandoms) | 13 comments Marzietta wrote: "I appreciate the Dorne story line too, but I think that we are going to hear from them a lot in the following book, for the same reason I like also the Greyjoy part, I don't know if it exists but I..."

Right! I wonder more about Edric than Gendry since his last sighting was more recent.
I did enjoy the Greyjoy part as well. Anxious to see on what will become of them especially Asha & Aeron.

Hella disappointing

Madeline Johnston (madelinejohnston) | 1 comments I would have loved to have had more scenes with Jon and Ned together, as well as chapters from the perspective of the potential kings of Westeros :)

message 44: by Brooklyn (new) - added it

Brooklyn Tayla (bookishbrooklyn) | 77 comments More Jon & Eddard scenes. And less direwolf killings. And that Nymeria could've always stayed with Arya. And lots more things too.
