i still think readers' advisory is fun, and i am so grateful that this group continues to survive despite my more limited involvement in it of late. so i thought we could try another game... one involving more abstract mood-based book matches. pick a word, match it to a book, like

playful
sublime
delicious
secret
surly
orange

i am interested in associations these words might have for you in your book-thinking

Algernon (Darth Anyan) | 78 comments playful: Cosmicomics (Calvino)

sublime: Paradisio (Dante)

delicious : Chocolat

secret : The Secret Sharer (Conrad)

surly: blank

Orange : The Things They Carried

*my favorite author and probably favorite book by FLB besides her first
Dystopian, apocalypse, mythology weaved into storyline

Delicious- Haunted by Kelley Armstrong

*I was thinking more juicy plot line, something that is sit down and read in one sitting. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Narrator is a strong female who must time travel to fulfill tasks given to her in the afterlife.

Secret- Every Day by David Levithan
*See my review of this book

Surly- Fables graphic novel series by Bill Willingham
*this is a series that imagines fairytale characters living in the big city. Three little pigs are cops, Bigby Wolf (who made me think surly) is a detective. It begins with solving the mystery of the murder of Rose Red.

Orange- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
*I thought of Eleanor's fiery orange hair. I read this book ,that takes place in the 80s, long before it was well known. I loved it so much, I immediately read it over again and cried and laughed and loved. Then I bought it in hardcover.
