About what year did your friend read it? Was it a school assignment or reading for pleasure? Where was your friend in school? Where is the book set? When is it set? Is it a memoir or something else? Author female or male? Does your friend remember the cover?
A long shot because this book is fiction - Grug and his Imaginary Friend by Ted Prior? "Grug, that unforgettable hero of the Australian bush, began life as the top of the native Burrawang tree. Join him on a new adventure with his imaginary friend!"
Betull, can you tell us more about the boy's imaginary friend -- human or magical creature, male or female, approximate age, personality, appearance, etc.?
By "non-fiction" do you mean it's a biography? Can you tell us about the boy's parents/family/friends?

Sorry for insufficient information. Actually she said some other things too but I didn't know how to translate at that moment. First of all imaginary friend is a male. And he kind of looks like cookie monster. And she said the cover is like children paint like crayons painting but when I ask later she said I don't remember. So we shouldn't trust that info :)) she read it 2007 and book set in that time. She doesn't thing there was a mention about any country. She just remember long trees. Oh, and she found the books in school library.
Show and Tell Surprise by Amy Keating Rogers?
Or Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends Jr. Chapter Book by Pam Pollack?
Is this a picture book (about 32-48 pages) or a longer chapter book with mostly words?

nope she read it in Turkish when she is too young. I really don't trust her memory about the book tho. I am sorry if I occupy you guys for something impossible to find. And I hope occupy is the right word. I mean make you busy?
note: I just realize I didn't write it is a book series. she said there are few books
No, that's fine, this is not support desk, people comment only if they want to. It's just that I think adding as much details as possible helps identifying, even if her memories are vague and not to be trusted completely.
Ayse, did you find your book? If so, what's the title and author?
